Already got a fair few of these, so the ones I plan to buy would be Yamada-kun, Tsubasa, and Panty & Stocking.

That Rosario + Vampire cover art looks very tasty.

Will definitely be getting Jojos, as well as Tsubasa eventually (gotta finish xxxHolic first)

Black Rose Alice, Drug and Drop, Kiss of the Rose Princess, Nisekoi, Spell of Desire and What Did You Eat Yesterday? for me. Ranma and Devils and Realist once I've read the previous volumes I've not had a chance to read yet.

Is What did you eat yesterday basically an extension of the predominantly east Asian fetish for posting pictures of food on Instagram? That's one craze I'll never understand. At first I thought it was just a thing people did for status, like "ooh look what overpriced restaurant I went to and gorged myself at today guys xxx", but then I asked one person who does it if they ever really look at those pictures again, and they told me that yes they do, whenever they are on the bus they like to look at pictures of old meals and relive the moment.

Mind boggling.

I plan on buying JoJo at some point but I haven't even bought Vol 1 yet...

I'd say it's definitely worth shelling out for the physical editions - as they're hardcover, and only around four quid more than the arguably quite pricey digital edition. Although it's worth noting that the pages are normal manga style in terms of the paper quality, it's not glossy stuff like the hardcover Gundam The Origin editions for example.

I never actually knew they were hardback. Good to know. Have plans been announced for the later JoJo's getting released in the same manner as Parts 1 and 2? I started buying the Individual volumes of Stardust Crusaders but stopped in case they start releasing Omnibus editions in the same style as Parts 1 and 2.

I do that *<_<* and my friends look at my old pictures and discuss them too. Only when I'm on holiday though, since I put more effort into finding interesting meals when I'm on the road.

However, in this case the manga in question is a slice of life romance about a gay couple for whom the cooking and eating are part of their everyday bonding. So there's still a gap in the market if you want to try publishing a comic about an irritated Instagram user surfing random galleries and only finding pictures of cakes.

o there's still a gap in the market if you want to try publishing a comic about an irritated Instagram user surfing random galleries and only finding pictures of cakes.

Yeah I do pretty much do this. And for some reason, it is the pictures of food that get to me the most. One reason is that it just feels innately wrong to take pictures of food, unless you're a food journalist. Imagine a future where a child finds their grandparents old photo album only to discover it's 85% pictures of the cakes they ate. That is the future we're heading towards.

What Did You Eat Yesterday is definitely a slice of life story about a gay couple who happen to like their food. It's not really fetishised at all.

The hardcover releases have sold pretty well by my understanding - I suppose the tricky thing is that by the time they've finished Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders will have finished airing on TV, so - depending on how quickly the anime moves to adapt Diamond Is Unbreakable, it might make sense to move straight onto that with the manga so it can release at the same time. I know amongst longtime Jojo fans their seems to be a real appetite for that considering that material has never been translated into English officially before.

If it's like the gap between Phantom Blood/Battle Tendency and Stardust Crusaders, Part 4 will probably broadcast in Q1 or Q2 2017 christ that long without jojo makes me sad

Sounds like it could be decent, I'd probably check it out if it was made into an anime and streamable on Crunchy. I very rarely bother watching any anime that isn't streamable on Crunchyroll anymore. Apart from really good films.

The chances of this being made into an anime are probably very slim though aren't they? Has there ever been an anime produced about a gay relationship?

It's by the same author as Antique Bakery, if that helps. It's quite similar in style although I'd say it's more light hearted. If it was animated, I think it'd be good as 5 min shorts or maybe 15 minute episodes. Each chapter is quite short, and whilst there is some overarching plot (one of them trying to come out to his parents for example) the description "slice of life" is very apt.
