What's actually in the LE Gurren Lagann release and what does it look like? The lack of any pictures with the set are puzzling because there were pictures for all the other Beez LE sets AFAIK :s

not sure but judging from the cover i'd say it's like this

I've seen that too Ryo, but that's not the same boxset we have here. Our boxset has two dvd's but only one case and I remember having more stuff in the box. I have photos of it in my home laptop.
I'll upload it later.

Also comes with a Gurren Brigade Patch and a pvc replica of Yoko's skull badge, she wears in her hair.

I wants it! But I'm not sure if I feel like double dipping for it. Anyone want to sell me the skull badge PVC? ^^;

Someone else has posted pictures of Beez Limited Edition Gurren lagann boxset on another forum, enjoy :)

EDIT: Found normal edition of beez gurren lagann for £11.99, look a bit suspicious as beez never go down in price to this extent, got a feeling it probably the region 1 version as cdwow do sell a variety of different dvd regions.

It isn't. It's a R2 misprice. I got messaged about it by Find-DVD.

Tomorrow CD WOW have a 10% off code active. Since I don't really want to be 1/3 on a series that'll end up costing a lot to collect, II'll order it with that code if the price hasn't increased tomorrow.

Although its a misprice, £12-13 is the sort of price the standard edition should be going for...or rather, it's the price similar Manga sets go for.

I wanted to keep them on suspense until now =P

Received my Gurren Lagann box set from Amazon today, and yeap, definitely the limited ed. version. It is really something to behold, and well worth the £25. Very impressive. Though I see it's back up to over £30 on Amazon now.

*cries*

That Bleach tin actually came out last year, as an exclusive to Zavvi, the same time the normal edition came out everywhere else. I don't think it had much time to sell well though...

I found it in the Piccadilly Circus Zavvi in London for something like £25.20 after their 20% discount, that was about 3 days before they shut forever. :(

Zavvi also released a season 1 tin set the same back when the normal version came out, that one I think was limited to 1000 copies though, and got a bit more advertising through having an advert in NEO.

They're charging £20 more than the standard edition for some cardboard and some plastic (and, er, a badge)? Hmm. A nice book with art and information might have convinced me to double-dip, but I'll stick with my sub-only DVDs and Yoko and Nia photobooks, which cost me under £60 in total.

^ Really, with online discounts it's more like an extra tenner. It was an extra nothing if you pre-ordered from Amazon (like Zeouterlimits clearly didn't, even after I told him it was safe). :p

The Volume 2 LE is coming with soundtrack CD's. I don't know about Vol.3. I can take or leave the plastic drill, (and while I like it, I'm not quite sure what to do with the massive PVC badge) but the patch is great, and the packaging is the best I've seen since the Patlabor LE's. Certainly worth the £30 Amazon are charging.

You weren't very convincing

Amazon's remarkably generous discount has certainly brought the price down to a reasonable level. Had I not already owned the series, or if the package had contained something of more interest, I would have bought the first LE for £25. But my point, I guess, still stands: Beez have slapped a £55 price tag on two DVDs, a box, and some tat. And if the RRP been lower, the discount may have been greater.
