UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

I generally avoid buying dvds anymore unless there is no BD release in the west at all

The only BDS in this sale are Broken Blade, Love Hina and Chobits, Love Hina i never cared for it and Chobits i already got it. (question did chobits fail in the uk as it seems a little to recent?)

Anyway i noticed a lot of these are in the 2010 to 2011 release date so im guessing the licensing for these titles are now expiring or already expired.

In that Case i narrowed down the ones that only have DVD Copy with no BD at this stage, so if anyone is still thinking weather they should get it, this could be the last chance at an affordable price.

The Titles are:

Requiem from the Darkness
Romeo X Juliet
Love Hina
Sayuki Reload
Pumpkin Scissors
Kiddy Grade
Desert Punk

Edit: So i decided to order Desert Punk and Broken Blade, the later is probably the cheapest il ever get it at this point, the former cause well i watched it and i wanted it in my collection and no BD version so might as well.

Does anyone know if there ever was a collectors edition for Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel I - Presage Flower (15) Blu-Ray?

The versions that's on deal of the week doesn't state if its standard edition or collectors edition and I noticed part 2 has both a standard and regular edition.

Edit: So there seems to be two versions and MVM is using the image for the version with the artbook. Is that correct?

There was a collectors edition but I'm pretty sure it sold out a while back. Based on the prices the ones in the DotW are the standard editions.
 
Say goodbye to Sankarea, Requiem from the Darkness, Pumpkin Scissors and Ikki Tousen Great Guardians from the UK scene as well.

Surprised Sankarea sold out, as the DVDs are universally borked, ie R1 R4 and UK R2 all share the same discs.
 
Picked up Sankarea and Broken Blade (blu-ray) finally, and took a risk on Hack/Quantum. If I don't like it, well it was only £2.

In other news, Heaven's Feel II has arrived! And it looks lovely. Just got to rearrange some of the stuff on the shelf now to get it standing next to part 1.

The CE release for P1 was released last year. If there's a collector's edition and standard edition available at the same time, it'll be stated on the site. If it doesn't say "collector's edition" in the title, then it's just going to be a standard release.
 
So I got Slayers Evolution-R and now I see that Revolution (the only part I don’t have now) is OoP, is there an affordable R2 compatible release anywhere? I haven’t had much luck looking yet. That’ll teach me to keep putting buying older anime off thinking it’ll be easy enough to get later XD

From what I see it's only Accel World P2, Hanamonogatari and the Intial D movies that are Blu-rays in these new additions. Kabuki- and Nekomonogatari is DVDs. Might have had some Blu-rays that's OOP now, but now they are only DVDs.

Regarding Accel World. is it good? My only knowledge about it is that one of the characters carries a certain resemblance to Eric Cartman.

My goof. Didn’t read. I thought Accel World was really good, for its first half. The second half sucked as it went all bunny boiler.

Sad news... A Lull in the Sea CE is gone! 😪
