Oh, Bandai. As if people needed another reason not to buy this release.

If the problem is with the masters sent from Japan and not incompetence on Bandai/Bang Zoom's part, then Manga's discs could have the same problem. We shall have to wait and see.

Despite how completely retarded and inevitably doomed to failure this would be, I could still see it being part of their thinking.

Will be interesting to see how any overseas BD release of Disappearance is handled, in light of this, since that doesn't have any English included in the Japanese release.
 
Now if I was Manga, I'd use this as an excuse to pretend Season 2 doesn't exist and just get Dissapearance and Harhui-chan though.

Sure some big time fans will bitch but would you want to waste your money and the BBFC's time on Endless Eight?

Well, it wouldn't be an especially attractive move if you consider that holes in franchises can be off-putting. I just commented on this over in the MSG thread. It bugs me no end that there's bits of the Universal Century Gundam stuff that I can't buy.

I mean the real money will be in Disappearance and if I was one of those Business men types, I'd say make Season 2 a non-person and let people import it if they're that desperate to see the same god damned episode 7 times over.

Let business do something _good_ this time around.
 
I'm a bit confused here, just what is so bad about Endless Eight, and keep in mind I've not seen any of season 2 of Haruhi, just some of season 1 which I need to finish anyway

It's almost the exact same episode being shot form differnent camera angles 7 times in a row.
Suffice to say it's a little too repetative.

Except Groundhog Day is both amusing and entertaining. Had Endless eight been written by Harold Ramis and counted Bill Murray amongst it's cast, it might conceivably have been better.

Oh, I liked the first series enough to buy the R1 special editions. Haruhi seemed irreverent and fresh at the time, I was quite looking forward to more. They squandered that good feeling pretty spectacularly.
