Manga Force - UK anime magazine hits national TV

In honest opinion from yourselves, do you feel the anime market in the UK is big enough to support a successful adult swim. It appears Turner are looking at other avenues for adult swim.
 
Seriously keep this to your other thread, you will see more activity there.

But yes, if good anime is on people will watch ;)
 
Hopefully I can get a lot of voters for this poll. It would be a crying shame if we could not get several hundred votes. In the Bravo forums the anime thread has surpassed 5000 views and it is the biggest thread there. I can't seem to get any more votes than the 14 now.
 
I only saw Manga force adverts a few times. My friend txt'ed me about it aswell.

One time I saw it in WH Smith with other magizines with free stuff. It as in a box thing along with other mags with items. How the hell can it be noticed there?

It was cool when the advert wasin the TV. But why does it always sound annoying. Remember the NEO Advert it used to show in Rapture TV?

Hi all,

I've just got round to watching Ninja Scroll and thought it was absolutely excellent.

I was gripped through the whole film and thought the characters were excellent, especially the bad guys.

Next up I'm going to rewatch Ghost in the Shell, followed by the first 4 episodes of the Ghost in the shell series that came with the subscription.

I haven't had as much time as I'd have liked for watching these lately as I'm moving to Australia next month. I'm going to have to get the magazine sent to my parents and ask them to send them to me once in a while (minus the DVD cases).

has anyone had there copy of ninja scroll delivered yet, because i think its been more than a month since the last delivery. i think am going to have to contact them if it dosent come this week.

It's been on the shelves of a few local stores for a few weeks now. It would be best to contact them.

Yeah, I got mine a month ago looking at my credit card account. So I would phone them up.

Hopefully I should be getting my next two DVDs soon.
 
Don't get too excited about your next two copies. Everyones subscription was delayed because *drum roll*

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, we've had to cease the publication of Manga Force DVD Collection"


Right before Macross Plus III & IV too >.<! Got the leaflet in my issue 5 when I finally got my copies this morning... I had contact Hachette via their main site but they didn't even hint of this happening, surely they knew and could've told me...
 
At least they're somewhat making up for it...send in the first 5 covers from issues 1-5 and you'll get either a free gift or full refund
 
Manga Force was a bad influence to Anime, anyway.

The only thing they done is making anime out like its really violent or porn or something...

So I'm thankful they ceased publication. Now we need Neo Mag to appear on ITV and other popular channels
 
Eh, didn't see anything wrong with it, but that's just me...personally I saw it as a simple way to get some decent anime titles without them being loaded with extra discs full of extras I wouldn't watch lol


edit - According to Hachette the leaflet was received in error and the collection has not ceased. Glad I'm not in it for the mags then as I threw the first 5 away having ripped the covers off.
 
Manga Force Debacle

I've decided to cancel my subscription as I've been waiting almost two months now for Ninja Scroll to come through. Just my luck as it's the one I've been waiting for. I contacted them a couple of weeks ago and was advised it was due to stock issues.

It's quite ironic the company doing it is called Hatchette, a good description of the kind of job they've done with it.

I only signed up to it as I'm a newbie to all things manga and anime and was looking for pointers in starting my collection. Would anyone be so kind as to make a few recommendations?
 
I got my 7 and 8 this morning. Macross 3&4 and End of Evangelion. After reading this topic last week, I thought I wasn't getting them. >_>
 
Finally got my 7 & 8 too. At least now I can get my weeks back on track so I know roughly when i'll get 9 & 10 and so on...short of any more delays.

*runs off to finish watching Macross Plus* Addicted to this one now O-o
