SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! We will be releasing Darker Than Black: Gemini Of The Meteor on DVD/Blu-ray this year on 26th December! Not available to order online yet but watch this space...

No mention of the OVAs as yet

and

December 26th is going to be a massive new release day for us. I can't say anymore or THEY will shoot me! Big news on the way at London Expo!!

I wonder what else they'll release on Boxing Day. They usually have a Naruto movie ready for the post X-Mas teen voucher spree. Maybe they'll have a Bleach movie this time around.

I'll be blown away if it's the Trigun movie. I need that so bad that I've been waiting on Blu-ray.com to confirm it's Region AB so I can push the import button.

KazeUK said at Ayacon that they were on the verge of signing a contract for Trigun: Badlands Rumble.

So yeah it does look likely.

Yeah, i had thrown the question about the OVAs as soon as i read the announcement, they replied back to me that they where going to ask the Licensor about it so we just have to wait and see. I want this now, but it must have the OVAs.

I'd love for them to have the Trigun Movie though. Really enjoyed it at the SLA, so would love to have it on BD.

AW YEAH!

This is EXCELLENT news! I liked Darker Than Black a helluva lot more than I thought I would. I'll definitely drop for this!

So it's not Trigun... yet.

Past boxing day performance, It's bound to be a Naruto or a Bleach movie. Most likely the second Shippuden movie.

@MangaUK Is the #DarkerThanBlack Blu-ray gonna be the same as the US version in terms of extras and possible Limited Edition version?

Manga Entertainment
@MangaUK Manga Entertainment
@SkyBlueChocobo We r using same discs as US. No special ed though.

Looks like someone has asked Manga about the OVAs and they are included but no limited edition.

If they are actually using the same discs, that's interesting, but I thought they had to add loads of BBFC nonsense which is why that was always impossible in the past?

To put my money where my mouth is, I should really cancel my US order and buy Manga's if it is true, but if they mean they are region-locked coasters and they just said they were the same to make people stop asking about cuts or missing content, it would be a waste. And I'm locked in with a great price on the import and it has a box. And I'm still a bit mad at them.

Argh, Twitter responses with their inherent vagueness are confusing ^^;

When they say they are the same discs, it usually means that they get the US Blu-ray masters, stick a Manga logo on the front, and lock them to Region B. They still have to create their own master here, press all their discs in Poland or whereever Technicolor have their replicator, stick the cover art with the BBFC labels and stick them in the case to sell.

Using US discs doesn't mean 'using' US discs as in getting to manufacture them and sell them here.

Actually I don't know if they are region locked or not, I only have a Region B player, but I'm guess that that they are, at least they would be with the Sentai discs that they half released here, which are locked to Region A in the US.

I would think it is the content not the region that is the same. If you don't like region B blu-rays, stick with the Funimation release you have preordered (I'm sticking with mine as I preordered the limited edition).

Thanks, sounds like I should just ignore what they say and stick with what I'm sure about. If it was a series I really cared about I'd stick with the LE anyway, but I only ordered it over the regular version because I was bored Funimation had so few new releases (a terrible justification, really) >_>;
