I've got a new anime/manga search list! --> click me (using Anime Planet for organizing it.)
Priority ranks are decribed in the profile. Anime wise it's quite a bunch already (read 170+195) and manga-wise it's even more (cough, almost 4 digit, cough).
Still figuring out how to best organize version/edition notes to it, but the bulkload on search is per English releases.
Will update the main list here in time, but I thought I shout it out, in case somebody has some stuff to dump out before Brexit hits.

Feeling out about the general state of interest for the Legend of the Galactic Heroes Sentai set.
So, the thing is this: I kind of want the release, as I liked the main series well enough and haven't watched the rest bar a movie that has had a French DVD release. I'm not even that massively turned down by the price. Broke down per episode it is, indeed, ok to me. (Or more like after me buying the Amazon limited JP Sarazanmai volumes, makes it hard to let this stay as the one convincing argument.)
But I really, really, really don't like this absurd monster storage box. (Also not too impressed of the rest of the packaging actually.) It just feels like a massive space eater and storage nightmare and every time my eyes tumble over it, I will probably just feel annoyed. (Just throwing it out would be for obvious reasons also out of the question.)
If I were to get it, and then standards (or anything normal sized) gets released after it sells out I very likely won't have any qualms of letting this one go.
So, I thought I'd just collect some info on one of the case of cases, if somebody might be interested in this set at the time then.
I have no idea how popular that monster is for being the release it is. Beyond it being the only one out there at the moment.

Sentai probably never release standard edition of these series. If even, certainly an incomplete edition. What I mean is that if one day a standard edition is created, then without side series and movies. I think so and write it based on the information that they provided somewhere. It was too difficult to get it, and they had to meet a number of different restrictions.
I have this set, because I love this series. It's the best series for me all the time. It was difficult and expensive to buy it. I bought through proxy-shipping because I am from Poland. But it was damn worth it.

They're basically asking. If they buy it, and eventually a standard edition set comes out in the future. Would there be people interested in the Premium edition at that point.
They don't currently have a set to sell at the moment.

Essentially what Lamdadelta already said. Sorry, if it was confusing. ^^;
As for the price I actually doubt that even if standards come, the price would be that considerably lower. (As it being sentai shop exclusive and it never going on sale looks a lot like that it's forcibly price-bound.) I could even imagine it actually being higher to account for dropouts midway. The major diffrence would just be the packaging and that it wouldn't require one shedding out so much at once.
