London expo licenses!

Combat Butler
Manga have confirmed that K-on , Haruri Suzimaya series 2 , the movie and Harui Chan are coming!

Beez has House Of Five Leaves and The tatami Galaxy

MVM has The Tower Of Druaga!

Definitely interested in House of Five Leaves. Didn't see that one coming. I don't know anything about Tatami Galaxy, and Tower of Druaga is meh.

K-ON? On Blu-ray, perhaps.

Beez getting noitaminA shows is good. As is Disapearance, Haruhi "season 2" couldn't realy care about. Has anyone bothered to check if it's just Haruhi-chan or if they have Nyoro~n Churuya-san as well.

Just looked up Tatami Galaxy and it sounds awesome. How did that go under my radar? Madhouse + noitaminA = instabuy. I don't think either are licensed for home video release in the US (Funi has streaming rights) so that could be quite a coup for Beez.

Probably under radar because of FUNi streaming, therefore next to no fansubs.
Assume FUNi do have disk rights, they have a tendancy of bulshiting about not having rights they almost certainly do, like with eva 2.22.
It's like the fact Manga have the streaming rights for Haruhi S2 etc., don't think they formaly anounced that, but it's known that whoever had got the disk rights had them.

Sad to hear from Expo Andrew is leaving Beez. I've personally found him being here, and listening to fans, and actually reacting to our opinions (Anime Legends, competitively priced releases, etc) has helped propel Beez from being the Anime distributor I largely ignored, to one of my most favoured. The Anime Legends line really turned it around, and the types of new licenses they started going after. Quite sad. But I'm interested to find out more about Kaze.

If you bought Professor Layton, or intend to get Vampire Knight, you'll know what Kaze discs are like.

Nice transfers, but the player locked during playback (Can't change subs or audio on the fly).

Kaze are what Viz Media is in the US (Sueisha and Shogakukan subsidiary, think it's those 2, with preference on their titles), but in France.

Not sure about Tower of Druaga. If they are on blu-ray then I would buy the others.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

This is sad news. Sad indeed - I can only hope he's going on to do bigger and better things.

Andrew's honest, earnest and forthright comments, his approachability and his obvious enthusiasm for anime are going to be missed. I sincerely hope that whoever takes on his position is possessed of these same qualities.

If you're seeing this Andrew - thanks for everything!

!

I cheered at the first post (definitely grabbing Tatami Galaxy and House of Five Leaves on release, and once again kudos to Beez for announcing something with no R1 yet on the horizon), then I hear that Andrew is leaving? I hope he sticks around online as a fan, at least :(

He's definitely been my favourite of all of the official community liaisons I've seen in the past.

(I'll inevitably probably get K-On, the Haruhi movie and the Haruhi spin-off series at some point too, but where I buy from depends on region locking and Bandai's recent US store policies.)

R

Yup, Andrew is a top bloke, always willing to spend his own time answering our questions, and it's to his eternal credit that he stuck around and remained civil even when some of us were moaning about prices and whatnot. So even though he's leaving Beez I do hope he still drops by in a less official capacity from time to time.

I believe Andrew will be doing similar stuff to what he does now, only for Kaze rather than Beez.
Actually, thinking about that, does that mean Kaze are intending to enter the UK as a new distributor in their own right or continue working with Manga?

It's amazing that some people are still passing constructive criticism that resulted in changes, which obviously meant there was some foundation behind them, and room to manoeuvre as moaning.

This is what I'm interested to know. There was mention of Kaze looking at the UK, but from what I've heard it seemed to be the digital market rather than physical, but perhaps it has been misreported.
