Welcome to the official Spring 2018 legal anime streaming status thread, where I note down all of the titles that are currently available for the UK & Ireland. Much like the previous season, all of the titles Crunchyroll and Funimation license will be streaming on Crunchyroll in subtitled form while the select few will be available dubbed over on Funimation Now.

Last season the streaming service Netflix have started their anime advancement with a ton of new exclusive titles. What happens next, who knows.

Amazon notes as per usual, they have exclusive international streaming rights to the Animeism & NoitaminA block so any of the new titles will be with that service only. Sentai Filmworks titles will also remain exclusive to HIDIVE now that AnimeStrike has been discontinued (with any exclusive now accessible to all Prime owners).

HIDIVE | DUBCAST Announcement

Sentai's main source of legal streaming HIDIVE have announced a new initiative called Dubcast. Starting this Spring 2018 season, select anime will be given a dubbed version 2 weeks after the simulcast episode is released. I assume this refers to new anime titles as they already add dubbed versions for catalogue titles throughout the past couple of months.

HIDIVE announced today that it will launch its much anticipated DUBCAST℠ feature beginning the Spring 2018 simulcast season. The new service provides subscribers early access to dubbed versions of select programming. This will complement the subtitled simulcast programming HIDIVE already features on the service each simulcast season. DUBCAST enabled shows will offer subscribers local-language dubbed versions within two weeks following the first simulcast with an initial focus on English-language versions.

“We are extremely pleased to continue to enhance HIDIVE’s value proposition by providing subscribers with one of their most frequently requested features: early access to dubbed content, through the addition of our DUBCAST feature,” said John Ledford, President and CEO of HIDIVE. “The localization, studio operations, and creative teams that power HIDIVE are some of the best in the business and we intend to leverage their experience spanning across three decades to deliver compelling local-language dubbed editions to fans in record time.”

Winter 2018 was the first season I've really taken watching stuff weekly seriously outside of when Attack on Titan is on. I caught up with One Piece in November of last year and that got me used to watching stuff weekly regularly. So when Winter came round I eventually picked up shows naturally.

So I'm planning to continue for Spring but DAMN! there are so so so many shows for Spring I'm interested in. My short list right now for the shows I'd like to see while airing (this isn't even everything from the Season I'd like to see lol) is the following...

But this is quite a step up from my rather meager by comparison Winter Schedule of just 5 full episode shows, 2 half episode shows and a short series every week. Out of that list only To Be Hero 2nd Season should be a half episode. I suppose it will all come down to as and when shows are on, though most shows air over the weekend usually.

I would have been interested in Tokyo Ghoul as well but I'd rather see in uncensored. I also haven't seen any MHA yet.

Anyway yeah Spring is killer and I'll have to wait and see if it will be too much for me.
