K-On Boxset & Haruhi movie Blu-rays Cancelled!

I'm confused now. On facebook they say it's unlikely, on twitter they say it's happening.

I'm just glad they don't have myspace...

whats the point of getting the singles now if the second series isn't going to come out, to be honest i was going to buy k-on boxsets but since bandai isn't releasing them il just play the waiting game and wait for some other company to pick them up and hope they do.

What I hope will happen is that another company will pick up the license for season 2 (and later, the movie) and gets that dubbed via Bang Zoom. After all, Bandai aren't the only company that uses them.

Oh Manga; in between all of the personal discussions about irrelevant things and technical support requests to other companies, the only bits of information that slip out are completely contradictory ^^;

Glad I don't care that much about K-On. It must be a really frustrating experience for the fans trying to work out what they should be buying.

Glad that fans are getting the Blu-ray set.

My reviews on the volumes hasn't reignited my excitement with the series, if i somehow get it for a really cheap price in the future then I might get it.

The lesson here, I suppose, is that where Manga UK are concerned nothing is ever "official". If the BD set does come out I'll either sell the DVDs or wait 6 months for a price drop. I do, however, remain somewhat sceptical.

manga picked up the rest of the series of Haruhi Suzumiya so im guessing that they might do it for K-ON
MangaUK didn't dub Haruhi; they only distributed it in the UK. Bandai Entertainment still dubbed it.

In regards to Haruhi, Beez Entertainment distributed the first season over here (with awesome limited edition sets, I might add). They later tried to get the The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie, but apparently Kyoto Animation were only selling it in a package that included the second season. Beez weren't confident that season 2 would sell (after Endless Eight, who can blame them?) so they passed. MangaUK then snatched it up.

Manga only grabbed Haruhi s2 because Bandai in the US picked it up and gave it an English version. Manga don't tend to make any English resources themselves, so they depend on other people. We've now apparently lost our only sub-only distributor here, so K-On s2 and beyond for the UK will rely on one of the dwindling US companies taking a punt on it and dubbing it.

I see it as much more likely to come from Sentai than Funimation, especially with the first series still in print in an undesirable release format which will limit appeal of the sequel. Nozomi might pick it up for sub-only US release one day if it's passed over, but that would probably not be an ideal outcome for most people here.

Funimation did license BECK: MCS and did a brillant job with the dub, so I wouldn't mind if they took it in the future.

While people (mainly fans) may fully disagree with me here, if Funi did so well with dubbing the songs in BECK, then why not try it with K-ON?
I'm being totally serious

Main reason I'd want Bang Zoom is so that the voice cast can remain intact; I really like the casting for the K-ON! dub.

Besides, if FUNi get it, they'll just cast Todd Haberkorn as Yui xD

Well what a big ******* suripse this is.Look i am importing again. Well done again manga. A bunch of ******* monkeys could run your company better than you currently do.

For some weird reason, I'd like to see that 8)

because for some reason the "in" thing to do is to get Christina Vee to dub songs

I agree though, Funi does some lovely Dubs, Ouran High, One Piece ect

i'll take this over Christina Vee anyday

It's not KyoAni's fault; they are just animators. Japanese animation companies doing the marketing and distribution themselves is actually rare (Gonzo). Haruhi is owned by Kadokawa.

Fair enough. Knew it was the Japanese selling them as a bundle, just got the wrong K.

Because K-On's music is dubbed terribly. Youtube it if you don't believe me.

You're right on Beck though, awesome dub, one of the best IMO.
