It's not the end of the world...

I totally understand playing them for story or characters, but presumably at least part of the market must be playing them for reasons similar to what Lemon said. And that's great if it works, I suppose they must hit a certain spot for some people. But whenever I feel lacking in company, the very last thing I want is an artificial crude approximation of it. I don't even really like playing games in general (or watching anime) when I feel that way, though I suppose that's a bit strange. I think even the banter between the characters in Final Fantasy 15 would kill me if I played it on a bad day.

Sorry, I think this is one of those "WHAT different people actually like different things!?" moments.
