Hello Children!

Solez

Completely Average High School Student
Hey, I'm Solez. Been around the block when it comes to forums, so I'm a dab hand at this. But it's through the medium of online forums that I've made some excellent, long-lasting friends. That is why I am here once again; to meet some new people, hopefully-most of the old forums I used to frequent died a terrible, if virtual, death.

I'm also 20, Irish, and I'm studying English Lit. and History at University College Cork. All going well I'm be doing an MA course next year in American Literature and Film. I'm mad about gaming and books in particular, but I'm also an anime and manga fan. Hopefully this summer I will finally get around to watching all the series on my lengthy To-Do List.

And I'm also single, ladies..

Books? Would this include instructional manuals or folded menus at all? In my case, such publications practically dominate my recreational reading habits.

@ Sparrowsabre - Knew you'd be the first who'd say hello. And rightly so.
I appreciate your advice about who to watch out for, too.

@Zin5ki- I do enjoy a good instructional manual now and then, furthers my language skills and so on. But nah. I read everything and anything, but my favourite reading material would be fiction/literature, that I can read for enjoyment and then re-read looking for meaning and putting it in context. I also enjoy manga of course, anything gaming-related, fantasy..

@stuart-says-yes, Kirrimir- I actually haven't seen/read that much manga/anime, but some of my favourites would include Yu-Gi-Oh!, Chrono Crusade, Death Note, Cyborg 009.

@Godot-thanks! And an Ace Attorney fan, I see. Nice.

Expand your horizons NAO! Go watch something which is so good it will blow your mind, like Higurashi no naku koro ni for example.

I know, I know, I have a list to watch as long as both my arms already. I'll know my stuff after this summer. Watch this space.

Threats? can't see none. Did anyone mentioned that you have two weeks to watch all the current season shows and that we will hand you a test? If you fail, we will feed you to the forums trolls. ;)

Welcome here though!

Good to see people like you, chaos, who aren't going to put me through any hazing. You just get right to the point and issue me a challenge with my life on the line. I can dig that.

Thank you.

As a fellow newbie who is very pleased to have stumbled upon AniUK, I say welcome. Looking forward to seeing you in the discussion threads. Incidentally, you would be the second Irish guy I've come across in an anime forum. No, that is not relevant in any way to anything, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

This, of course, leads us to the following corollary question: How long are your arms?

A fair question, I have to hand it to you. They're about average length; thankfully I have not been burdened with puny arms like your typical T-Rex.

Thank you muchly, VivisQueen! Us rookie Anime UK'ers have to stick together. Oh, that's interesting, and you'd be right in guessing that, since I'm only the second, we're few and far between. In fact, I actually know the first guy.

*Reloads shotgun* I smell mutiny.... :p

Glad you're fitting in so well in the 1st day. Keep that momentum up.

It's hard being popular and having new members try to copy you; adding in their own dinosaur jokes. There's just not enough originality spread around this shithole of a forum, full of people from a shithole country; a country that's part of a rather ****** world. It annoys me.

(You need to be more sexist to be a good imitation, by the way. Start by showing your male superiority over the new female member. She likes being called a bitch.)

@Chaz- Mutiny? Perish the thought. I'm curious though-if you're re-loading the shotgun, you've fired it before? And recently? Anyway, I intend to keep up the momentum so I doubt you'll have to use it against me. Thanks.

@Aion- Believe me, I've got plenty more dinosaur jokes that you won't have come across before. Perhaps I'll even teach you a thing or two.

That said, I appreciate your advice about sexism. It's important we don't allow the lost art of male supremacy to die out.
