It looks like I'm going to have to get My Hime from the US because Beez keep putting it back. So I was wondering what US stores are the best and was kind I postage I am to expect?

I was planning on getting the box for My Hime anyway so I might as well just finsh off the series with R1's because I would end up with 7 DVD's anyway. Also thanks I will check out that site. What is a Hybrid format?

actually hyb on up1 means its not a region 2 dvd or originally from the UK

Erm sorry but no, It doesn't.

UP1 sell hardly any Region 2 dvds if any so what would be the point.

Copied from the site:
(Hyb/Hybrid)= Subtitled & Dubbed

If your referring to what UP1 list most DVDs as on their site then it is means a DVD with English audio as well as Japanese Audio with English Subs.

Hybrid means to join or mix something and in this case means Japanese and English audio.

You can get Mai-Hime 7 - special edition (with an interestingly styled artbox) from Up1 for £21.60 delivered but from DVD Pacific you can get it delivered for £14.36. Up1 will get it to you by the next day, DVD Pacific will take a minimum of a week (with the cheapest shipping option), no customs on items under £18 and the items are always very well packed : ).

Yup, I would recommend these alot, as long as your item and shipping is under £18 then you wont get slapped by customs. Its just a choice of up1, pay more, faster delivery or DVD Pacific, pay less, slower delivery. I always go for the latter, in the long run you'll have more anime.

The movie mars people were on ebay and I was going to get off them but then I thought I would have a look at what other stores there were. Also how much does customs normally want?

I've never used Movie Mars, but I've heard stories of bad customer service from people who have brought stuff from them on ebay, but that was several years ago.

To answer your question, customs charges are 17.5% of the stated value of the item plus an £8 handling fee. As stated previously by other posters, anything below £18 is exempt from this.

Incidently, Otaku.co.uk, like United Publications, are UK based importers so you won't have to pay customs charges on anything you order from them. Personally, I buy stuff from either of those two or from DVD Pacific.

Finally, a lot of R1s are sold on Amazon Marketplace. Caiman list all of their stuff there for instance.

For My Hime Volume 7 with. Their site would charge £13.98 but on Ebay it's only £11.18. Which makes Ebay cheaper this time. Also Ebay normally makes the postage much simpler.
