Yes, you do. Caiman are a US based company, as I believe are Movie Mars.

Re: Movie Mars, you shouldn't have any problems with them for My Hime. The issues I've heard of were with to do them listing OOP Books and CDs which they didn't have and couldn't get hold of from the manufacturer.

Yes. Just think of buying from Up1 as paying the £8 handling + VAT, because that's just about how the prices work there - £20 for a artbox on Up1, around £12 on DVD Pacific.

To answer your question, customs charges are 17.5% of the stated value of the item plus an £8 handling fee. As stated previously by other posters, anything below £18 is exempt from this.

I also learned that anything under £36 is exempt if it's being sent from private individuals, what I did with that when I had to order something over £18, Roberts Anime Corner Store gets in really special stuff sometimes, but the shipping costs are awful (usually more than the actual item), so I asked in the comments if they could send it like a parcel from a family friend or whatever, and the people at RACS are really passionate about selling anime so they did something to help and put on the customs stamp that the items I was buying were worth $10 instead of the real value of about $65, which is fantastic, and they arrived fine : ). I was lucky as well with DVD Pacific, because there was something I ordered for £18.03 so I thought I'd risk it, I thought it might not bother getting checked because or the quantity of stuff I order, and it was fine as well (along with the added bonus of being the full collection and not just the volume 1 + wooden artbox like I ordered haha). So yeah lots of ways to get round customs : )
 
I decided to get Shana instead of Hime off Up1 and when I ordered them they were 15.05 each and I just checked today and they have gone up to 21.50 but only on my order. I sent them a questoin about it but I was wondering if anyone here would know why?

They list stuff in your order history without the 30% discount, so don't worry.
