Due out in Japanese theatres in February 2012, it is the first of a trilogy of movies adapted from Kentarō Miura original manga. This trailer features a sample of the film’s main theme, Aria, which was composed by electronic artist Hirasawa Susumu (Paprika) as well as the closing theme Utsukushikumono by Ai. The film was animated by Studio 4°C and directed by Toshiyuki Kubooka who has worked as animation director on notable titles like Gankutsuou, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, and the Working Through Pain Segment of Batman:Gotham Knight.

I'll admit, i'm still a little unsure to whether or not the film can do the whole of the Golden Age arc, but that trailer is fantastic. I was a little worried about it being fairly CG heavy, but that does look great. Now we just have to wait a few more months =/

The animation does look great. Although I'm not familiar with Beserk (aside from knowing it has big swords) so I don't really know what to expect or if I should be excited or not yet.

Sensational! I remain slightly to be convinced by the CG horse scenes, but apart from that very exciting.

Still need some confirmation on what will be covered in the three movies imo, the positioning of the "I" in the title (ie. after "The Golder Age" but before another subtitle) still makes it look like all three movies will adapt that arc. edit: yeah, quickly looking, that does seem to be the case, but I do strongly remember reading that it would just be one of the movies. Oh well.

Yeah, i missed it, then got confused at people saying there was only one, then found it had a big "I" at the beginning, and put two and two together last night. >.> My skepticism has all gone now, so i've nothing to worry about

I thought Andrew himself said this movie would adapt all of the Golden Egg arc?
Not that I'm too worried myself but if Evangelion can turn 12 episodes into a 2 hour film, I'm sure it can be done with Berserk.

It really really can't. Don't even try to compare the two.

Andrew did say that, but after checking out the title name and more into the details released by the studio themselves, it's 3 films. Which is why it says "Golden Age Arc 1" not "Arc 1: Golden Age"
