I still didn't watch anything for more than a couple of minutes (although my newly upgraded connection is eager to gobble things up), so I can't say for sure, but if I can't see it being anything other than an advertising bullet point to add to the site. It's not like they're actually going to be getting proper HD masters of stuff all of a sudden.

Whether or not those are just upscaled 720p is another matter entirely. At least it should help with the aretefacting if they're using higher bandwidth.

I was just assuming it was their own upscale, better news if someone is doing that work for them I suppose. There's no way they are getting actual native 1080p materials to work from imo.
Given the quality of their 720p stuff it doesn't really matter, either way. The biggest improvement is how much sharper the player controls look, you are still not getting a "true" HD experience. It does stream smoothly though, which I thought they would have trouble with at first.
