Crunchyroll's Winter 2012 New Show Announcements...

Vash, if you have any problems I can always PM you a guest pass.

Related to my last post, it's now been confirmed that the glorious NIS America are going to be bringing Natsume Yuujinchou (all four seasons) to the US on disc in the future. That's one less thing for me to buy on my next trip, and I hope it does well!

Thanks! Thats awfully sweet of you, Rui. I'll try first at some point, and hopefully all will go well.

Natsume Yuujinchou looks quite promising.

I'd never even heard of it. The announcement being met with such excitement by female fans probably explains why; that's never a good sign :p

Oi :)

It's more in the vein of other laid back monster of the week series like xxxHolic. Actually I guess it's a lot like a better version of Tactics. Anyway, I have a weakness for meandering monster of the week shows doused in mythology.

Seriously, when I reported this everybody hated it and now a sea-change in opinion?
To be fair I was all for it. Anything with the Balls (or, more likely, lack of knowledge in the English Language) to use the word "Bodcious" as part of it's English title has to be worth at least a shot.

Natsume Yuujincho is definitely worth checking out, Fabby, although the first season didn't quite live up to its billing for me personally.

All sorts of good things from CR recently. TeniPuri, an actual simulcast dorama.

Big shout-out to Sentai for that ad copy though, taking it properly old school.

Don't worry, I still think it looks pants.
Technically speaking, it looks skirts

I will be watching moon cake though ( coincidentally, I actually did have real moon cake for the first time this year, and it was very delicious indeed!) if it's up for free. Is any of this stuff for free?
CR, typically, operate on a "First episode up for everyone and then a week delay for non subscribers" system so yeah, it should be baring any unfortunate nonsense with regions.

Next up for your viewing pleasure... Recorder and Randsell

streaming to everywhere except Japan.

The synopsis:

On the surface it seems as if Atsushi is an adult, but really he's just an elementary student! However, he is paired with a second-year high school student Atsumi, whose height is just the opposite of his. These two together create an unusual relationship and will undoubtedly instigate some comedic antics in this slice of life comedy!

Two more announcements scheduled for today.

I think I'll skip that one. It sounded irritating from the day it was first announced in Japan :D

NISEMONOGATARI!

Following up 2009's Bakemonogatari anime, based on the light novels by NisiOisin, is the sequel series Nisemonogatari, which joins Crunchyroll's growing lineup of winter simulcasts. The hotly anticipated show kicks off on Saturday, January 7, and will stream every week at 9:30 am PST.

Nisemonogatari will be available to watch in the U.S.A., Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Licensed from Aniplex of America, Nisemonogatari follows Koyomi Aragi, the third year high school student who survived a vampire attack in Bakemonogatari, only to find herself mixed up with a host of apparitions, from gods, ghouls 'n ghosts, to myths and spirits. This sequel picks up where Bakemonogatari left off, with the psychological twists spiraling ever deeper.

Sweet was hoping for Nisemonogatari. Also is it just me or does that last bit of the Recorder and Randsell synopsis almost sound like they're reduced to hoping it will get funny at some point.

Live action J-Drama?

Deka Kurokawa Suzuki

In a partnership with Yomiuri TV, Crunchyroll is preparing to add its second J-Drama to the simulcast lineup with Deka Kurokawa Suzuki. The detective drama kicks off on Thursday, January 5, and will stream each week at 7:00 pm PST.

Deka Kurokawa Suzuki will be available in the U.S.A., Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Brazil and Portugal.

Synopsis:

Kurokawa Suzuki is hailed as a detective with top-notch reasoning skills with a sensitive heart to those around him. With an array of different personalities that making working together difficult, Suzuki and two of his coworkers must solve a series of brutal cases that start emerging in their town…

Yeah that Recorder and Randsell show sounds dreadful, so I'll definitely be skipping it. I can almost already fathom the potential this show has to disturb, all in the name of "comedic antics", in the worst case scenario. If years of watching anime has taught me anything, it's to avoid shows with this kind of setup..
