UK Anime Distributor Crunchyroll/Funimation/Manga UK Discussion Thread

they definately approached former (and presumably current) employees of the company, but yea it doesn't paint a positive picture. The fact all that stuff wasn't, understandably, covered (plus some interesting other comments made elsewhere) shows the issues have accumulated over the years.
GKids got Dandadan for home video as Toho own it and Science Saru. It was pretty obvious Crunchyroll weren't promoting it as they never did their usual social posts of highlight clips from the series like they would with most of their streaming titles.
I wonder with this, it was before any acquistion was announced but of course, that may have started before. The primary licensor for Dandadan is MBS (Mainichi Broadcasting System, the TV broadcaster) and, like a few others recently, decided to go nonexclusive. This, along with producing the English dub themselves (clearly priortised as all the other languages, to my knowledge, are provided/created by streaming partners, and also wasn't done on the cheap), means you can probably expect it with AL over here, with no real issues. They already had the theatrical run preview thing of course.

Come to think of it when manga entertainment got bought out didn't they fire all the long term PR staff and then outsource all there PR to a third party company? Sure I read that here. Why is it when buying small companies do the big partners think hiring people who are actually fans (and know what fans want as a result) is a bad thing?

Funimation ran Manga UK as usual when they bought them out, they closed everything when the Crunchyroll merger went through.

3-7 months. Coming up unavailable when I put in a UK address as well, but will let me order with an Irish or Northern Ireland address.

If you need it to the UK AoL have it for about £127.50.

Interesting. I mean, I have an order that they didn't ship/charge my card and it says January 14th as the delivery date. Although knowing Amazon, once they ship everything it'll go back on sale... Maybe.

No, I wouldn't buy from AoL, there shipping to my country is awfully high. Only from Aamzon.co.uk did it make sense.

Just be careful as this is limited stock. There isn't a guarantee Amazon will get any more stock back in if they're showing as unavailable. The reason our postage is expensive is because this is a heavy and expensive item, so we're shipping with DHL for international orders.

You should get charged soon, it's now in stock on Amazon.

Ave Mujica, my most anticipated anime of 2025, is not available in Europe on Crunchyroll. What a sh*tty way to start the year. I don't understand this decision since Ave Mujica is a sequel to MyGO which is available in Europe on Crunchyroll.

Are you sure? The first episode is available for me in Ireland.

I am sure, it does not show up when I search for Ave Mujica on CR's app via phone or TV (I also tried searching for it in the web browser and it does not show up there either). When I clicked on an official link Bandori Updates shared, it said "404 - Page not found."

Apparently it's only available on UK and Ireland when it comes to Europe. I saw some French people tweeting how Ave Mujica is not available in their region region/country either and I am myself from Finland.
