I watched the series in two sittings! :D I think it was a bit too Ghibli like for Fox.

Haibane Renmei (Complete) Watched the whole series over last two days.
It's a tough series to peg down, even after seven episodes. That's hardly surprising, since it's from the mind of Yoshitoshi Abe, best known for the Lain series. There's a whimsical, down-to-earth feeling to the show which I liked and the characters are simple and realistic.
Reminded me very much of an extended Ghibli movie set in episode format. Started quite nicely, cute and light heartedly but as the series developes, gets much darker and sinister. I for one enjoyed the series. I found it easy and enjoyable to watch. I gave it a 7/10 however anyone who was a big ghibli-esque fan would probably rate it higher.

yeah Ive watched the first two episodes Ayase, I think Voddas has done the serries now though

I liked it because it was mysterious (I can see how people might take issue with the fact that few mysteries were revealed), and the slow pace and just general atmosphere were nice, which reminded me of YKK. Also <3 Reki (not in a dodgy-doujin way you filthy minded people).

Reki was obviously the cool character like. I think it's an anime that can really grow on you as since I wrote the other post when I watched it, I've had time to reflect on the anime and it really is a compelling story with light and dark themes. Kept my attention like (which is a good sign).
Only main thing that annoyed me was ,like you said, the fact that so many quetions are left unanswered.

Yeah that's a problem a lot of people seem to have. Some people could call it lazy storytelling but I quite like making up theories and all that. :shrugs:

It'd be good to see something new from Abe. I loved both Lain (which I think he just did char design for though) and Niea_7.
