Code Geass- Lelouch of the Rebellion

WOW, this is the first time I've ever spoiled someone. For what it's worth, sorry, hopeful_monster.

With that said, I don't see the need for spoiler tags in this thread. If you don't want to be spoiled on fansubs for Code Geass then you shouldn't be reading this thread at all since it's clearly going to contain regular commentary on the most recent episodes. Otherwise we may as well spoiler tag this entire thread.

Agreed, but not all subbers have released up to the most recent episode yet. GG, who from other comms/forums, seems to be the most popular/best fansub group doing the series, only released episode 21 this morning. Not everyone downloads the speed fansubbers due to the fact they often get quite a little bit wrong. So I'd say in the case of CG, maybe spoilers should be used until about a week after all the subbers have released, as then you are going to spoil a lot of people. I know I've been spoiled thanks to the screencap, whereas I've been desperately trying to avoid spoilers. On the main Code Geass LJ comm, anything of that matter is always put behind a cut, LJ's equivilant of a spoiler tag. I want to chat about the series and see how others feel about it, but I don't want to be spolied, especially as we are hitting the end of the season, which inevitably is going to be a cliffhanger for the next season.

If you don't want to be spoiled, don't read the thread until you have seen the latest episode. I'm honestly sorry if I have spoiled anyone and don't want this to sound cold, but you shouldn't be casually reading a thread that clearly commentates on the latest episodes if you are that twitchy about spoilers for Code Geass; once the fansub comes out, it's open game and you should be especially careful about reading these kinds of threads.

If I were watching raws I could see your point, but we can't be expected to cater to each others preferences in fansubs too, especially since this isn't a community dedicated to Code Geass that has developed tiers of spoiling, unlike your LiveJournal community or AnimeSuki.

In the future I'll be sure to spoiler tag what I say in this thread anyway. My main complaint is that people aren't really exercising common sense in the first place.

For one thing didn't know episode 22 was out, and second some speed sub groups have shall we say less than brilliant results ( saw one which literally said ' sounds complicated so will not bother' for one scene). Also limited to direct download, rather than torrent, which slows things down even more.

For me, the text wasn't the problem as I was casting an eye over it and avoiding anything that looked spoilerish so I could still read the thread but not get spoiled. But the image was kinda impossible not to notice, so for me it was mainly that and no matter how much decersion is used, it's impossible not to see ^^;;

I'll have you know, the cleverly dubbed "Your-Mom" fan subs do a bang up job! ;) To be fair their translation quality is perfectly adequate for a series that hardly requires perfection. With that said we're edging even further into dodgy illegal territory so lets drop the specific references to fan-subs etc.

If there was a way to spoiler tag images, I would do so. Like I said before, I perfectly understand why anyone could have accidentally come into this thread and been spoiled. It's just hard to cater to everyone in a thread that is allegedly devoted to discussion of the latest episodes of Code Geass.

I never thought that commenting about the recent episode is bad for others, and if that's the case so I wonder what this post is about?

Isn't great to bring spoilers to let everyone know that the torrent is out and everyone will be prompted to download the latest episode and come back then comment on it too....??? one advantage of spoilers hehehe ^_^

I'll be careful too if that's the case...... I'm still in shock and I watch comedy after that to lift my spirit.....

So start watching it then let's talk about it....

Just managed to see episode 22 and holy ******* crap. I mean I thought the twist last week was unexpected but this ... what the ****? The little cynical git inside me who normaly works out what is going to happen in anime and spoils it for me (and is right 99% of the time) has gone into some kind of shock and has has to go lie down. This series has shot up my list by a factor of ten.
Only problem is now we have to wait for the next episode.

I also can't wait for the next episode... I want to watch this episode again but it just hurts....
I think this genocide-episode shows the dark and scary side of war... it doesn't matter who's wrong or right, if a lot of life will be lost, what's left.... even if you win, the flash back of people you killed will hunt you for eternity.... I guess this shows the situation in Iraq and past wars.... but I'm still Lelouch side.... so wrong but so right gosh I'm turning evil bwahahaha
I just love this show.....

Just read that eps 24&25 of Code Geass wont be airing till summer 2007, I'm guessing the huge delay is to change it's original ending to create the set up for the 2nd season. I'm looking forward to ep 23 getting subbed, supposed to have a huge cliffhanger which isn't that good when you'll have to wait 2-3 months to see the next part

 huh???? Are you sure 24&25 will be till summer????? NO WAY!!!!!!!! the gap is just so wrong and unjust.... :x

oh well... expanding the plot maybe interesting... as you said, I'm sure the ending is a massive cliffhanger.... but the gap of 23 and 24???? Just want to cry.....

Wow i just saw episode 23! That has to have been the best episode so far. In fact i cant remember enjoying an anime episode that much this year! I cant wait until episode 24 now, and its going to be painful to have to wait till the summer for more. Bring on season two!

Yup, the episode 23 was a hell of a ride. Part of the thrill of Code Geass is just waiting to see what twist the story will take next, I really didn't expect to the Princess to die - especially with LuLu as the killer. But then, with the way she was accidently "Geassed", she was pretty much a Japanese genocide machine anyway. This just goes to show how much Lulu is willing to sacrifice, he is even laughing by the end of the episode, despite having just killed an old friend.

Again, the animation was fantastic and the mecha battles were especially thrilling. Sensational is certainly a word that suits Code Geass and with every passing episode is just gets better and better. The announcement to create the "United States of Japan" was great, over the top fun. I haven't enjoyed a show as much as this since Black Lagoon. LuLu is so unhinged and ambitious. He epitomizes everything that's good and bad about humanity!

So now I wonder, who's going to snuff it in the last couple of OVA episodes? I expect to see "Cornelia" taken down in battle, while Suzaku has got to discover Lulu's true identity sooner rather than later; something tells me Shirley will have a say in how that will happen too. The wait for the next couple of episodes will be PAINFUL!

Actually the delay is because they no longer have a timeslot to air the episodes in. When they were planning the show, Sunrise purchased a 25 episode slot for the show. However, after the show started airing the production staff decided to throw in two extra recap episodes, that weren't part of the original production plan. The timeslot Geass airs in has been taken over by Bones to air 'Darker than Black', leaving the show without a timeslot.

The rumour is that a 2nd season was always intended (although Sunrise have to confirm that the sequel they announced will actually be a TV series), so there's no need to change the ending. Besides it's pretty clear now that the 'Lelouche's Rebellion' part of the story is nearing it's conclusion, which makes me wonder what the sequel will be about. There's been so many amazing plot twists to this show, that there's no way you can predict what happens next.[/spoiler]

I'm really shaking watching this episode, honestly. It just gives me the chills... Lelouch is a true hero, the courage he has to extent beyond imaginable
killing her own friend or step sister ... "My hands have been tainted with blood long time ago... I will welcome you because were friends right?" then the evil laugh... so so so amazing. "Perhaps, since that day, I'm looking forward to it... Destroying everything and creating everything... if emotion get in the way, just get rid of it. Yes, I can only go forward" very powerful lines.......

Did Euphie really die?
Who is that VV, counterpart of CC?
Who is that guy who came out on that big container?
When will Suzaku discover the Lulu's identity?
So complicated, so many questions, so great

After watching this, it's just the BEST anime I've seen... It's everything I wanted in an anime that gives me chills...... Just the best!

TOTALLY AGREE!

Ohhh, collywobbles all round. While i was expecting to Yuffie to die, still wow. And the comment of Lulu's 'his first love' made it all the more tragic. Think he has gone off the deep end, rather than entirely to the dark sides (but he definitely a very dark shade of grey). Also thought Lelouch is mirroring Macbeth a bit
"Stepped in <blood> so far that, should I wade no more,
Returning were as tedious as go o'er."
As for VV think he/she(?) is another one of what ever CC is, and i think he/she told Suzaku about Lelouch being Zero and why Yuffie went psycho. which lead to the call between Lulu and Suzaku. Lovely bit of double speak going on there.
Personally want to know what the minor characters are going to do, Nunnally, Nina, Shirelly etc. Nina's manical welding on the knightmare and her research into nuclear power makes for some intresting ideas formulating. Especially after finishing GitS SAC 2.
Now just gotta wait for the 24-25 and the next series, though happy they decided to redo the last two episodes rather than try and bodge along with what they had. Will hopefully make for a better show.
