BEEZ Licenses: Lucky Star and will be released in 2 Box sets

Not wishing to put words in Mutsumi's mouth, but generally when people express opinions publicly on a discussion forum it's not unusual for others to want to... y'know, discuss them with you.

And on the point of supporting the UK industry, I'm happy to do so when it works in my favour and they're supplying me with what I want, when I want it. But I don't feel any kind of duty to support them over the US - If releases there are better value / quality then I'm going to vote with my wallet and import. They have to earn my business, they can't rely on it.

Sorry Ayase :(

I have a region free DVD player but the quality is crap when it plays any R1 DVDs. My Xbox 360 or PS3 are much better to use but they are obviously region locked.

Hey, no need to apologise. I've started plenty of conversations I wasn't really interested in having on here by virtue of my big mouth (or should that be quick fingers)?

I do understand not wanting to import for quality reasons. I have a region free Blu-ray player but haven't imported a single TV series because of Funimation's poor picture quality issues. That's one area where the UK companies could really make money out of me... If they want to. At the moment it doesn't look like they do.

Money still goes to the americans as they did the dubbing. Most of the anime releases here comes via the USA.

Lucky star came out in the US 2 years ago and it came out in legends form earlier this year. You can only wait for so long. They've now got to face all the fans who d/l'd it the moment it aired due to the hype and those who got bored waiting and bought R1.

As for quality, remember Japan is an NTSC country. There is always the chance the PAL version for the UK came from an NTSC source. You'd hope not but there is always a chance.

a huge grin just struck my face

I understand this situation, as my DVD player is old and crap, but my only means of playing R1, while my PS3 will do R2 really nicely. This is the reason I bought Death Note on R2, and why I have happily bought R2 releases in recent years, where as before I was pretty much R1 only.

Still, I wouldn't double dip for it. Thats just me though, and I am not the master of your wallet. ^^;

If you Double DIpped for an R2 release wouldn't that make it R2-D2? =D

*crickets*

Seriously though I'm all for r2 purchasing. If only due to my obsessive need for order in my collection.

Should I give this series another chance? If you asked me now to evaluate the series on paper, I would say it is something I would probably love, but for some reason I didn't like it at all.

Ah, we all want FMP: TSR. But it's supremely wishful thinking, I fancy.

A shame, because I definitely felt I was persevering with FMP, even through FUMOFFU. But TSR was easily one of the best action anime shows I've yet seen. Great stuff.
