Batman: Arkham City

Completely forgot that Tim Drake was the Robin featured in TAS. It's definitely that universe, so if we do hear him speak there's a good few people who they can use to voice him.

Hi all,

I am thrilled to fully announce the Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition!

Collectors Edition will officially include:
Custom Batman statue produced by Kotobukiya
Collectible art book
Early access to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns skin
Batman: Arkham City album from WaterTower Music including original songs by hit artists, available via digital redemption
Bonus DC Universe animated original movie, Batman: Gotham Knight (this is the same content that was a prequel for The Dark Knight)

The CD you see in the artbook is the game!

Source, with a bit of Q&A.

Pass. None of that really leaves me wanting it, not to mention I always like the boxes to be standard. I don't like steelcases and I sure as fecal matter don't like books or sleeves. Have the game pre-ordered, but standard edition. (also that cd sleeve on the right with Batman on makes him look massively fat =S)

A guy in Gamestation tried to sell me on the Gears 3 LE on the basis of the figure included... I was all "Dude, who would be dumb enough to buy a figure of some guy from a video game? I don't even have enough room in my house for all the figures I buy of little girls from anime."

Judging from past LEs the figure is always crappy anyway, or a ridiculously expensive statue which destroys the RRP. SPlinter Cell had a pretty shoddy looking figure, as did RE5 (the mini chris figureine).

And that's just from photos. Stuff is supposed to look better than reality in the promo photos :p

In all fairness this package looks better than the plastic batarang on a stand that came with the previous games collector's edition.
(i never had that either)

Skins! Skins everywhere!

From left to right, with where you can pre-order to get em in brackets (where info is available, though all will later be dlc, this is confirmed)

Batman Beyond/ of the Future for us brits (gamestop.co.uk), Dark Knight Returns (collectors edition), Earth-1 Batman, 70's Batman (shopto.net), animated series Batman, regular Arkham Batman. (if I'm not mistaken his gauntlets have been altered slightly since Asylum, pouches on belt too.

I have to say, of these only Beyond really tickles my fancy so far. I love TDKR but it's not Batman's finest hour in terms of looks, but then it was drawn by frank miller *zing* :p

They don't have the Tim Burton Batman, dissapoint, although I guess we've pretty much got him with 70's Batman I'm also surprised that Batman Beyond is there, didn't think he would be popular enough, also surprised that the 60's TV series Batman isn't here, considering that it's theme is in Arkham Asylum.

Is it? =O That's news to me. Where?

And I suspect there may be issues with movie rights. It's rare for movie costumes to be seen in non-movie games, but since WB owns rocksteady now and I think also DC? (correct if wrong) there's a chance the movie suits could make it in.

Also Beyond is actually REALLY popular in certain places so that's not too surprising. Earth-1 is more surprising since I don't even know if Earth-1 batman is out yet... though that's probably DC plugging its wares rather than because anyone wanted it.

Also when replaying Asylum the other day I went to the visitor's centre I didn't notice the mannequins moving the first time, though first time through the game I only visited once at the start and promptly left and then again at the end where you find out the mannequin is the Joker. I really loved that twist so coming back to it and seeing the 'mannequins' change position when you turned away was really cool and something I wish I'd seen the first time around.

Talia Al Ghul here which was shown at the same time as all 6 skins where revealed(3 where revealed about a week before the rest)

I just want the Batman: TAS skin, and i'll be happy.

I had indeed Arby (Can I call you Arby?) she's looking good, but I'm most excited but what they haven't revealed yet. I mean in Arkham we had the Scarecrow levels out of nowhere which were brilliant (especially the faux intro :p) so I'm hoping they've got something fancy up those Joker-like sleeves of theirs.

According to people commenting on Youtube it's in Arkham Asylum, admittedly I haven't played the game so I can't tell for certain

Yeah, that which isn't shown usually ends up being pretty awesome. So will be interesting to see what exactly we can expect from each villain.

Also, yeah you can call me Arby, everyone does anyways ;p

I'm sort of hoping that the Arkham series ends here. I mean where do the go from here? Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Arkham Land? Super Arkham World 64?

I don't just mean in terms of scope either, there's plenty of speculation this'll be the Joker's swan song and they seem to have included every single villain that was absent from Asylum (along with most who weren't only Scarecrow and Croc are not confirmed in this game AFAIK).

Rocksteady has also poured so much into this and made the city so dense and full of stuff that I would feel like anything less would be a disappointment and more of the same wouldn't cut it. Plus from interview they have said they're not thinking about a third game at this point, which is good. Kinda sick of games defaulting into trilogies by now, I'd rather devs make the best single game they possibly can than hold things back for sequels.

Well Sparrowsabre, Mark Hamil said this would be the last time he'd be voicing the joker so I think if there were a third game it would be missing his presence anyway. I'm not saying you need him there but after two games it'd be a bit strange not including him for any additional entries.
