Not news but I'm moving house and thought I'd share some of the random things I found stuffed in a box at the back of a cupboard. Some greats I'd totally forgotten about that need the blu ray treatment!
I'd completely forgotten about Gozu! One of Takeshi Miike's weirdest films AND I found Above The Law, which I didn't know I owned, just in time for 88 films to announce a deluxe edition 🤦‍♂

What's interesting about Righting Wrongs (Above the Law) is that there's apparently two different versions of the film depending on whether you watched it in Cantonese or Mandarin, and 88 is apparently including both.

Better late than never!
Now the question of is it Kung Fu Hustle 2 or Kung Fu 2 Hustle and the bigger question of why not Kung Fu Tustle?!?!

88 Films have added Seventh Curse to their website and for the first time I've notice they seem to have tweaked the artwork a bit.

Looks like the folks who are working on the Tiger Cage Trilogy have more projects in the works. Those on BD forum speculate it's going to be the first five In the Line of Duty films (which features actress Michelle Yeoh of Everything Everywhere All at Once & Shang-Chi fame) due to their planned release in Germany.

Hopefully! I've only seen the HKL released ones:
Police Assassins (Yes, Madam!)
In The Line Of Duty (In The Line Of Duty 4)
It'll be very interesting to see how they're named this time around haha

RRR is now on Netflix (albeit only in its Hindi dub, but one that's director-approved and by the actors themselves) and for my money is the best film of the year so far by a country mile. Incredible filmmaking.

New Announcement | THE POLICE STORY TRILOGY, the exhilarating martial arts comedies that established Jackie Chan as a worldwide superstar, will be released as part of the Eureka Classics range in their worldwide Ultra HD Blu-ray debuts, presented from stunning 4K restorations. Available from 26 September 2022, the Limited-Edition set (4000 copies only) will feature a Hardbound Slipcase & 100-page Collector’s Booklet.

The most action-packed trilogy of all time comes to Ultra HD Blu-ray for the first time ever! Featuring some of the most dangerous stunts ever performed on camera, these three films represent the pinnacle of Jackie Chan’s unique style of Hong Kong action filmmaking. A dazzling blend of gritty action cop drama, impeccably choreographed martial-arts sequences, and bone-crunching stunt work – this series of films revitalised the Hong Kong action genre and established Jackie Chan as a worldwide superstar.

POLICE STORY (dir. Jackie Chan, 1985) – considered by Jackie Chan himself to be his best film in terms of pure action, POLICE STORY stars Chan as “super cop” Chan Ka-Kui, who goes up against a notorious crime lord in a series of escalating set-pieces that resulted in many of Jackie’s stunt team being hospitalised.

POLICE STORY 2 (dir. Jackie Chan, 1988) – Demoted to traffic cop after the events of the first film, Chan Ka-Kui is reinstated to the detective unit when a deadly gang of explosive experts blow up a building and threaten to blow up more if their demands are not met. Featuring yet more bravura stunt work, and even more injuries to its cast and crew, POLICE STORY 2 is to this day considered one of the best action films ever made.

POLICE STORY 3: SUPERCOP (dir. Stanley Tong, 1992) – Action superstar Michelle Yeoh (EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE) joins the series as Inspector Yang Chien-Hua, who teams up with Chan Ka-Kui to take down an international drug ring. With some of the most outrageous stunt sequences ever committed to film, POLICE STORY 3: SUPERCOP is an action masterpiece that must truly be seen to be believed.

All three films consistently appear on lists of the best action films ever made, and Eureka Classics is proud to present them all in their worldwide Ultra HD Blu-ray debuts from stunning 4K restorations!

And they've pilfered Kung Fu Bob for the artwork, very nice!

Found these slides that make it easier to understand what's included.
I completely missed the part about Kung Fu Bob having done new covers for each film! I thought it was just the box 😂

I’ll be picking up the UHD trilogy - very much enjoyed PS 1 and 2 and have yet to see the third film.

My reaction to seeing the Amazon leak last night (slighty NSFW? - won't take any risks):
d00.gif

Jokes aside, I'll be picking up the box and the standalone release of PS3.
Same reaction!
I saw rumblings on bluray.com a while ago about them having PS3 but instantly brushed it off as wishful thinking because of the Miramax debacle.
So glad I was wrong and hopefully it opens the door to others they had locked away like Drunken Master 2 & the John Woo films (I think, that could be an entirely different problem)
