You lot have pretty much just described chav kids and I highly doubt anyone is reading this forum in a set of trackies, short hair with 'go faster' stripes and trying to square up to his own reflection in the monitor.

Well they are (and yes teenagers are just as bad if not worse), and this is tbe internet. So if this thread continues for another 3 pages it'll include aardvarks and transformers.
Problem with this thread is that the definition of lolicon wasn't discussed earlier so there was more room for confusion.

That was the inter net comment, the longer a thread goes on the more off topic it gets.
However the confusion over what really should be classed as lolicon is a very difficult discussion. Since anime and manga characters have no real age (no birth certificates etc) the can be given any age the writer desires. Therefore a character can be created who looks twelve (or younger) but is said to be 18. This way the writer can put the character in all manner of situations, but say ' Oh she's 18 that's acceptable, not loli'. It also works in reverse, some characters look 18, but are written as a 13 yr old.
An example of the former (if a bit extreme) is someone like Sasami. Looks Loli, but is according to the story over 16 (actually over 800). Would buying a hentai mag of here be considered lolicon? Not according to her 'age'. An example of the latter would be someone like Asuka Langley (form Eva... duh), Yoko (gurren Largen) or Sakura (from Naruto). Looks (depending on shot) like a 16-18 yr old, but actually 14, 14 and 12(1st part) 15 (Naruto Shippūden) respectively.
Personally i'd say it's what they look like which is the more important, but the given age is also a factor.

The topic appears to just require just a yes/no post from each person. It's not something people can expand on either - you do or you don't, simple as that.

In my limited experience with lolicon (read: I've never, ever actually read any) I think it's disgusting, unnecessary crap that should not be allowed. It really, really detracts from how great an artform manga/anime is.

That like saying that real porn takes away from the amazing movies we enjoy just because they exist.
Like all things we dont like,dont get involved in them,take theyre existence with a grain of salt.=D

I have to agree if it is actually helping stop people abusing real children, but the propblem is, this stuff may actually may get people to think or so the real thing.

Swings and roundabouts really.

Hmm... it's true reading it will desensitise people to that sort of thing, but it doesn't necessarily follow that people will then go out and do the sort of stuff they read about.

watching/reading lolicon cant implant those idea's into ur head... its not a fetish its a mental disorder and youve either got or dont, no matter how much lolicon u read its not gonna make u see little girls in that light unless those ideas where already there.
