You should try a short series i guess for start. Maybe even a movie.

We've watched

Death note
Basilisk
Moribito
Now were watching FMA both series 2003 and 2011 were on 2003 series

After that I was thinking of

Baccono
Vampire knights
Count of monte cristo
Angle beats

i was thinking of introducing inuyasha to mum but i want your opinion first, i haven't seen inuyasha but i have them all

Avoid that, it's not that great and quite boring. I would go with Princess Tutu, a safe bet with a mom. Or Haibane Renmei, Millennium Actress and Only Yesterday.
Baccano is great, but you risk to burn all that kind of cards at the beginning.

It would be a shame to show your mum all of the really fantastic stuff when she's starting out :D

I think she'd enjoy Vampire Knight, by the way. Maybe save The Count of Monte Cristo a little longer as the visual style might be distracting.

oh were still watching FMA, were on episode 25 and 26 tonight * shes going to be up set on these,

theres a point, all the ones iv shown her had deaths in them * except moribito * and she doesnt like the deaths, she enjoyed *death note, basilisk, moribito, and shes enjoying FMA, but the deaths wasn't for her,

i keep telling her the deaths are there to create drama and she said i dont care i cried when arthur died in merlin, but im sure she'll get over it.

it'll be along time before we'll be watching anything else because were watching FMA and after that were watching FMA BH.

im intending to let her watch vampire knight, heres my other suggestions

angel beats
the count of monte cristo
baccono
i was thinking of getting her in to inuyasha but iv been told it might be too boring
ummm i might let her watch glass fleet
eden of the east
wolf rain * this will be a might*
romemo X juliet * believe it or not she hasn't heard of the original story *
bamboo blade
and those beautiful anime like journey to agartha, the place promised in our early days, voice of a distant star
samurai 7

shes not in too comedy but if the drama has comedy in it that would be great ( when she saw eds reactions to his high she had a laugh, shes not up for subs either and fan service is out of yhe question * along with hentai *

i almost had her watching HOTD once

i want to keep her entertained any suggestions guys

Rui summed it up perfectly in one sentence.
If you want to involve your mother to watch anime with you on a constant basis (not just 10-12 series and then stop), then you need to balance your choices.
If you play all your aces (top10 class series) at the beginning, then after that it can only go downhill for your mother. Meaning she will start to think "this series is not so good" (comparing it to what she watched before), after a bit of this she will get tired and will want to stop.
Other things you need to mix are the style, genre and pace. Up till now you watched only dramatic stuff, with a good amount of violence and some involved stories. It's better if you mix up what you are going to watch with her. I think going with something different is your best choice now.

@teonzo

ohhhhhh sorry i was miles away

ok what would you guys suggest

heres my list of anime i have http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Animefreak17a

i suppose i could show her movies too.

i want to keep her interested but i dont want to get her bored and not let her watch some thing with a silly style e.g. hellsing ultimate yes this series kicks ass but it has its moments * if you know what i mean

iv already played 3 of my best cards

death note * the greatest ever*
moribito
basilisk

watching FMA & BH series, OVAs, movies

it will be ages before we watch anything else.

shes a newbie, not in to comedy, and hates deaths in anime

right what would you suggest

i was thinking of giant robo * the story is amazing

im in a really tight spot here

ok i was looking for a few anime my mum might like and while i was looking at the bottom shelf on the floor i noticed that a part of the bottom left shelf was wet and i found out it was condensation * in other word my room is damp * i had a look at the discs that was in the area where it was wet and luckily there ok, so i decided to move all my dvds from the wall where it was damp,

tomorrow il have to find a few boxes to put them all in til my room is done out.

other problem is i have this tower shelf i made a while back and its in front of the radiator now i keep it turned off just in case it ruins the discs, but its gotten freezing lately.

its one thing after another

so heres what im going to do im going box up my dvds and put them in a safe until my rooms done out. * theres a few rare animes here and favourites ect, i dont want harmed, lets face it i dont want any of them harmed *

the problem is theres no air circulating in my room be cause of all the stuffs in the way and something needs to be done about the walls

question

what sort of box should i use cardboard or plastic

so yeah im in a pinch here.

as soon as my rooms done out and the walls are done with a special paint and a new bed i can move my stuff back in and start work on my wall shelfs,

that reminds me i need to do a few Measurements

Re: im in a really tight spot here

I'd sort out that air circulation issue pronto. My old house was condemned by environmental health due to the poor air circulation causing so much mould.

Re: im in a really tight spot here

No offenece af mate can you please stop doing so many new threads at the same time. Can't you put some of these in your thread in the random chit chat area. I can't find many things on the first page of anime discussion that isn't yours. Not having a go just asking nicely.

question is K-ON movie and colourful the movie going to be region 2 released
K-On movie is set for a BD/DVD release. The absolute earliest it may get released here if they are lucky is August/September, but I reckon it's more likely to be later on. Sentai's release is in May, add on 2 months for AU release, then add another 2-3 for R2 so probably Sept/Oct/Nov. Personally I'll be importing in May to keep consistency with the rest of the series. (US Season 2 sets)

Nothing on Colourful.

Hey I need help

I sent back a DVD and I put in a new order * by cheque *, I asked them today if It arrived yet but they said it didn't, what should I do if it's lost in the mail.
