I have seen crest of the stars. I find crest of the stars good and I can't wait to watch banner of the stars
 
They never released Banner III in the West, right? Or Fragments? And the novels never finished in Japan. Overall, that series annoys me a lot, even though I do like it.

yeah thats a shame, its to bad tho its not a great series and it doesn't stand out but for some reason i like it

They have whenever I've used them. Games it's harder to judge but even where the scratch was so small as to be almost imperceptable they've managed to clean it and stop skipping for me =)

Umineko: When They Cry - Set in the When They Cry world, but is not a direct sequel to Higurashi. So you can watch it without seeing Higurashi.

is there any other sequels or spin offs to this series
 
In addition to the series order Rena has just put there is also an OVA series, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Rei but that has yet to be picked up anywhere. That series is set after Nigurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai but you don't have to watch it as it only adds things in...though the first ep of it is pretty funny.
 
And don't forget the other Higurashi OVAs Black :p Which is called Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kira. Though that is also unlicensed, as well as the other Higurashi special, Nekogoroshi-hen.

Nekogoroshi-Hen though takes place in between the first season and the second season in case you're wondering Animefreak :p

Yep :p

Kira came out last year. Imported the LE DVD of the first OVA from Japan, because of Rena being on it and it included a CD which has Rena's VA version of the ending song <3 It also came with Satoko/Rika cardboard pop up and a mini manga.
