Yeah, Phantom Bullet could have stood to have had like three less episodes and less fascination with Shinon's Behind.
And a conclusion that wasn't absolutely ridiculous. I mean, did anyone seriously believe that Death Gun's methodology was actually logical?
Not to get mired in spoilers but Logic is usually the perview of the sane. Death Gun was most definitely on the Leathal Eliminate side of the psyco pass scale.

I mean logical as in actually possible to pull off, because y'know.

Given how it was done it makes about as much sense as any other murder plot.

Actually in the wake of something on the scale of the SAO incident doing it in that way is somewhat inspired. I've seen enough Castle to know what a bs murder plot is and this isn't one of them.

I just wish the director would learn how to truncate and have less fascination with the behind.

I'm not that interested in SAO so I'll probably not be getting this.

Snap. Never understood why people rave about it as a show, the art alone puts my teeth on edge.

You don't like the art? I thought it was probably the best thing about the show in all honesty.

SAO also has nice production values. I was able to suspend my disbelief over Kirito's endless supply of heroism for two arcs then I called it quits, but I can see why someone who fits the target audience better would have a great time with it.

I found the first arc to be good fun, never got round to finishing the second arc. SHould give it another go on netflix I suppose.

I thought the premise and the first episode of season 1 were great, then as it went on Kirito became far too much of a Gary Stu and the plot holes were wide enough to drive a bus through. I finished season 1, but only just. It's far too much teenage boy wish fulfillment for me, but I can see why it's popular.

I understand not liking SAO. I can't understand not understanding why people like SAO, given the at this point infinite number of popular shounen action series and the decade+ of MMOs being a major part of pop culture.

After all this talk i Dove back in to the second arc of sword art. Got up to episode 18 when I first watched it and picked up from there.

It's nothing special, but damn if it isnt pretty and easy to watch. 4 episodes left on season 1. Yeah I may as well but anime limiteds release of season 2.

Maybe having a romance that actauly sticks is a good point.

It's not particularly well written (and Progressive is going a long way to fix that) but KiriNa is an island in a sea of Tsundere nonsense.

Is SAO particularly unique in having a mediocre romance storyline in an action show? There are literally thousands of equally-crummy stories out there, so I don't understand why it's singled out.

I haven't seen the show, but isn't it incest?

If you keep telling yourself it is enough times, sure.

It's more popular than 99% of those, so you get more eyes on your posts complaining about it than you would if you took Shinmai Maou no Testament to the cleaners. :p

Yep, but there's a big twist and when that twist is revealed,it changes everything and by everything I mean absolutely nothing.

Because Sword Art Online is popular and people love to hate on popular things.

Though, don't get me wrong, you'll find no sane fan who thinks Fairy Dance is in any way well executed (except for Takehito Koyasu chewing the scenery like the Vampire he is) in book or cartoon form.

And the show could stand for more "Let's all get together and MMO for shots and giggles" scenes (Extra, Calibur) too cause when they actually bother to do those the characters bounce around like a bag of superballs and it's a joy to watch.
