Anime Limited & MVM's 12 Days of Christmas 2020: 1st-12th Dec | 9:30am MVM, 5:00pm AL

Anyone else half suspect that when AL found out MVM were starting their 12 days sale the same time this year, they were like "lol no. lets just put everything in our sale up on day one", effectively devastating our bank balances before MVM gets to the good stuff?

Yeah, that one is conspicuously absent, was looking out for a bundle offer on it too, it's really not a release I'm too pushed on though considering what others have said about it here,

No way they'd have just the first part of it in the Mystery Box?

Cheers! I've not actually had any time or the energy in my brainspace of late to actually follow much of the anime biz of late, so I appreciate this kind of direct response.

My wallet, on the other hand, is plotting your premature demise.

i wonder if it's to do with their new shipping partner not wanting 12 days of being hammered or it could be people outside the uk complaining last year cause of the £24+ shipping for each order
 
The Mystery Box for the Blu ray is already Sold out.

The DVD version is still available.

That was fast unlike last year, they could not sell it all i think.

Free shipping for orders over a 100£ outside UK is great. Not many do this, so AL listens to their customer base, I for one am happy for that. Definitely a step up.

I was actually thinking about buying the BD mystery box for the first time. Normally I like to know what I buy, but for some reason I thought it sounded more interesting this year. I guess other people felt the same way. Anyway I did not get to buy, since I am waiting it out. I still want some of those EBs to come up.
 
I guess the upshot of having been collecting for over five years or so now is that I already have quite a lot of what I'd be interested in from the sale. Aside from the ~£125 worth or early birds I'm interested in, I only made one order of £25* and probably won't order much else.

Gundam on sale, and a buy one get one free? Instant cop. Wasn't expecting that. There I was thinking I'll be fine it's only Kill la Kill I'm interested in for this xmas sale haha. I didn't go all out though, just finished off getting the rest of the standard editions I needed for UC. I'm behaving.

That's pretty much the situation I am in. This Anime Limited sale is really good, but the issue is that I already got a majority that I wanted prior. There was one exception (Ajin: Demi-Human 2) which I am teaming up with someone since we both couldn't decide on another title for the Buy 1 Get 1 Free offer.

That being said, there are a couple of titles I was hoping would be in this sale but instead is very likely going to be in the mystery box instead which is annoying, but I'm not too bothered if they sell out as the only added value they had was poster and art cards.

I might consider a few standard Blu-rays for my Christmas list but chances are I'll just focus more on the early birds and use the spare funds I have for the MVM sale instead (if it's cheaper and not a repeat of prices from last year).

Pretty much in the same boat as Joe and NormanicGrav here as I have most of what AL released, and for some other titles in their catalogue I have the US release (Erased, Plastic Memories, ...). So personally for me the EB’s will also be the most interesting part in the AL sale.

Day one of MVM‘s Christmas sale left me empty handed but with a full wallet :)

MVM on the first day had nothing for me either. There was a few titles I would have bought if the sales prices were better.
