Anime Limited will be releasing Eureka Seven from studio Bones for home release on Blu-ray and DVD. The series was released once in the UK by Beez Entertainment for DVD only. You can watch all 50 episodes of the series for free in English and Japanese over on Viewster.

We said we had some more news to share with you and we weren’t joking as today we are happy to announce that we (Anime Limited) are bringing the popular series Eureka Seven to the UK.

The series been out-of-print in the UK for some time, we’re very excited to be giving UK fans the chance to own the entire series for the first time on Blu-ray as well as DVD, all 50 episodes of it.

Synopsis: Renton Thurston is a 14-year-old boy who lived with his mechanic grandfather in a backwater town. Every day he dreamed of being with the mercenary “Light Finding Operation (LFO)” aircraft pilot group “Gekkostate” and riding “Trapar” particle waves– a sport called “reffing”– with their charismatic leader Holland, especially when faced with his father’s acclaimed past or his grandfather’s desire to protect him. When a young girl named Eureka riding the original LFO, the “Nirvash typeZERO”, asks his grandfather for a tune-up, she inadvertently brings the attention of the military to the garage; as a result, the garage is destroyed and Renton is forced to deliver a new type of interface– the “Amita Drive”– to the Nirvash.

After a heated fight in which the Nirvash destroys the military LFOs by unleashing an immense amount of power, Renton is invited into Gekkostate. However, he quickly realizes that behind the facade of a traveling group of mercenaries is a very bitter reality.

“What’s not to love about Eureka Seven?” says Andrew Partridge, President of Anime Limited. “It’s a great coming of age mecha anime that shows real growth. It’s one of the great shows from Studio Bones of that era. The same studio that brought the world Escaflowne, Fullmetal Alchrmist and Wolf’s Rain. I’m really happy we’re getting the chance to make this available to fans in the UK, and especially on Blu-ray. I am also excited to confirm that we are planning an Ultimate Edition release for the series.”

Eureka Seven will be getting released in the UK on both Blu-ray and DVD in 2016. More details on our release will be forthcoming.

Fantastic! My first ever full series that helped me fall in love with Anime. Definite BD purchase as it's killing for a re-watch.

EDIT: Ultimate Edition too! Excited :thumb:

 Good license. I sold my Funi versions so will buy these. Hopefully split in to two at most with individual boxes and atbooks hopefully :)

Edit - ignore that. ULTIMATE EDITION :D

I'm so happy for this and fantastic to see we are getting more "older" series, especially in an Ultimate Edition. I wonder if it will include the movie? (Doubtful, considering Manga has it)

Missed this tidbit myself. Very happy to hear. Tbh this will get ultimate and standard releases, so don't worry :)

At 50 episodes, the RRP for this is going to be enormous. I could quite see AL delaying the standard edition, until they've sold enough copies of the Ultimate. I wouldn't blame them for employing this strategy, but also wouldn't give a second thought to importing FUNi's release.

I already went for the Funimation release as I wasn't expecting this to happen. But I can tell you that despite being an 1080i upscale, it's a pretty good one.

And we should also mark another show saved from Beez:
■ Cowboy Bebop
■ Durarara!!
Eureka Seven
■ The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
■ Outlaw Star
■ Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
■ The Vision of Escaflowne

The ones remaining from Beez that Andrew could grab next:
[spoilerbutton]■ The Big O *Licensed by Sentai in US*
Fantastic Children
(The) Girl Who Leapt Through Space *Licensed by Sentai in US*
Gunbuster 2: Diebuster *Licensed by Discotek in US*
Gunbuster vs Diebuster: Aim for the Top! GATTAI!!
.hack//G.U. Trilogy *Licensed by Funimation in US*
.hack//Roots *Licensed by Funimation in US*
House of Five Leaves *Licensed by NIS America in US*
IGPX *Licensed by Discotek in US*
Lucky Star & Lucky Star OVA *Licensed by Funimation in US*
Midori Days *Licensed by Media Blasters in US but may have expired*
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny *Licensed by Rightstuf/Sunrise in US*
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny Special Edition *Licensed by Rightstuf/Sunrise in US*
My-HiME *Licensed by Funimation in US*
Planetes
Sound of the Sky *Licensed by Nozomi/Rightstuf in US*
Stratos 4
(The) Tatami Galaxy *Licensed by Funimation in US but aren't bothering to release for retail*
Wolf's Rain[/spoilerbutton]

He can't rescue Vision of Escaflowne again. (Edit: You spotted, NormanicGrav. Damn you, now I look crazy :p) Also, I believe they have theoretically got everything but the most recent Gundam.

It'll likely be £149.99 (matching the fmp set) at most, so £90-100. Big ask when the standard Funi releases can be bought for about £40, but I'm in for the artbox and artbook :)

Hopefully it's like ttgl where the standard releases are a couple months after (If that)

Blame ANN Copy & Pasting.

I'm still updating that little spoiler tag. Bear with me for a couple of seconds.

I think, this confirms that Sunrise is what stopped Gundam getting a UE. As this season is a mecha, very similar episode length but less well known and is getting a UE.

I didn't think that needed confirming as it was always stated that AL/RS were merely partners in the equation. It was always a sunrise product/plan.

Ahhh, I'd just imported the Funi sets too. Still, Eureka Seven is excellent and glad to see it coming back to the UK.

Just a couple of months after I purchased the american version as well. Oh well, it's worth the double dip, and for an Ultimate Edition too! Awesome stuff! I absolutely love this show!

I bleedin' LOVE Eureka Seven!

UE pricing puts it out of my reach immediately, sadly. HOWEVER, if / when a standard edition surfaces, I'll buy that quite happily. The previous UK edition had some annoying sound drop-outs, so I'd be quite happy to replace my copies with a fixed BD edition.

EDIT: Just noticed on the All The Anime blog that the wording implies that the UE is something they're going to do for the show as opposed to ALL they're going to do with it, which my sleep deprived brain assumed for a second.

Awww, yiss!
