UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

If we're talking about BLEACH, it's a Friday/Saturday release.

More broadly, cinema chains do insist on showing non-anime films too - rumour has it that some of them even generate higher attendances than anime, especially at weekends! Unthinkable I know, but this is the scurrilous chatter we hear. 😅

It's not like there's anything else going on that's huge on the, say, 25th of June anyway.
Nothing about truth and dogs and maybe a bit of super.

Yes i do apologise, I just originally saw the release window for angel's egg and got annoyed then when I saw the date for bleach I got the date's and day's mixed up and thought that was a Wednesday too, my fault.

I wonder if there’s any chance of ATA acquiring Monster for the UK market? I’m eyeing up the Discotek release now part 1 is finally available to pre-order, but would happily wait to see what could be done with the release here. BBFC fees might be an issue though owing to the length of the series.

"As always, stay tuned for more exciting news on all of our usual channels, we have some big news brewing as ever so watch this space!"

I know that they say this all the time, "we have news" etc etc... but BIG in BOLD on the GURREN LAGANN BLU RAY BLOG? You know what's big? A cinema screen. Could this mean... a cinema release in the future?

Oh ATA please what I would do for that. Anyways keep it up, even disregarding what I just said the cinema releases have been awesome and I'm eternally grateful, can't wait for GitS tomorrow 😄.

Just checking in with other people, my copy of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Part 3 arrived today and apart from "Part 3" it has no writing on the spine at all. Does everyone else have this? I mean Parts 1 and 2 were hard to make out (it's not normally as clear as this picture directly under the light), but this is going the extra mile!

Oh yeah, I've just clocked this. Mine doesn't have anything on the spine either, lol.

EDIT: on second look, there is some writing there, but it is incredibly faint. And I mean, really faint. You have to hold it up to the light to even faintly see it.

What a bizarre design choice.

Same issue with my copy aswell at first glance, however upon closer inspection the text on the side is actually there, just very feint.

Did we.... not confirm that at MCM Comic Con? I know I have MCM fever dreams (and stress dreams), but I'm sure that one actually happened....
In my cynicism I don't view a tentative date as confirmation. I'm currently awaiting an announcement of a confirmed release window that would mean it's locked in.

I'm not trying to be a dick here. There's just been so many delays and fallen through plans with Gundam here I now don't take anything for granted until we have far more concrete details.

Not gonna help impressions of myself but just had an email announcing we're getting a chance to purchase an import edition of Requiem For Vengeance and for the price I really wish it were a better title.

Addendum to previous post- to my knowledge, nowhere in Europe currently has the Hathaway sequel which likely points to Sunrise/Bandai Namco not wanting a rollout here until autumn at the earliest. If that is indeed the case, there's obviously nothing Anime Limited can do about it.

Like I said, zero interest in being a dick. But at the same time the fact we're currently adrift on receiving it means we're at risk from spoilers from places that have had it already (looking at you America), making it further annoying when unrelated titles enjoy more coordinated releases.

I feel like I've said this a million times but I'm not here to just complain about what Anime Limited do with Gundam regardless. Pointless negativity helps no one. But on this title in particular, even looking at what appears to be aforementioned likelihoods, I wish it could have been better handled to not leave us hanging. Bandai directly are treating any surprises the film has as open spoilers now because enough territories have it.
