UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

@Hanners will there be March Newswire.
They only just addressed this.
Just to say, Galaxy Express 999 is a France-only title.

Macross Plus Movie Edition will be putting in an appearance this week though! Beyond that, we have a whole rack of big titles that are at the "not quite approved but getting there" stage, so it's mostly been a case of waiting to see what gets final sign-off first, hence the radio silence on newswires currently. I'm hoping we can get back to normal service on that count soon!

Preorders start later today on the Anime Limited store.
Here's the link.

Hanners will be glad I stop bugging him about this one :D
Now onto The Concierge... 👿

100% pre-ordering this, can't wait! Also it seems the end of the blog post is teasing the Digimon movies, that or a re-release of Belle as it mentions another Hosoda movie set in a virtual world.

I noticed this as well, my initial thoughts were also perhaps Belle - maybe a steelbook version to match the other Hosoda steelbooks we're getting with this recent slate. Or maybe, yes, the first set of Digimon films.

I notice there's has been a lack of new Gundam Home Video Releases lately.
It's almost been two years since the latest Gundam release.

Unless they are taking a short break of the Gundam franchise for now.

I still won't give up for a After War Gundam X, 08th MS Team, Gundam AGE and Victory Gundam Blu-Ray release here.

Seed Freedom is out in May.

Well there's been a few factors as to why Gundam has been in limbo for the UK. Bandai Namco taking over Sunrise was their main reason for a while but I do wonder if another factor could be because Nozomi is no longer around that those authored discs may no longer be accessible or had assets/materials that are no longer approved for UK release so they may have to redo the discs from scratch.

As others mentioned SEED FREEDOM 4K is on its way at least, but given the state of the US market (for example all of the Nozomi releases are out of print), Anime Ltd may have luck on their side because any Gundam they release from this point is probably going to sell more due to more interest from the international market (i.e. US/Europe), especially since a lot of them kept ordering the UK versions from the sales.

As long as they don't handle it like Build Fighters & Build Fighters Try where they released the collector's edition in two parts and then immediately releasing a standard edition complete series set right after. The CE as a result was double the price and double the space on the shelves when it could have easily been half the size. Granted we got VDMS discs which saved the set for me personally but I hope they don't do this tactic every single time.

A collector's edition with a CD soundtrack, come to me...
I’ve already got the four transparent sleeve “Hosoda Collection” titles (with booklets), and then there’s the combined “Hosoda collection” set. Admittedly I don’t have it in 4K, so at least that combined with the soundtrack and bonus disc will make me appear a little less crazy.

But if there’s a steelbook, why can we not get that in the CE (or LE or a steelbook-CE)?
I also note there’s no “standard” 4K (yet). And if anyone is after just a single standard Blu-ray, I expect they may as well just get the current/old release.

Macross Plus movie edition hath appeared on Amazon with a 30th March release date 🤔

Dear @Hanners will this be getting a North American release too or is it UK only?
