UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

The writing at the All the Anime blog is consistently excellent, with the most recent being a review by Jasper Sharp of a new book on actress Yoshiko Yamaguchi who provided some inspiration for the title character in Satoshi Kon's Millennium Actress (a film that has been mentioned a few times lately...) and also for the design of Bai Niang in The Tale of the White Serpent / Hakujaden - I've got no idea how Toei managed to ignore the 60th anniversary of that one last year. Really needs to be restored and re-released like Momotaro.
 
Speaking of Kon, ANNOUNCE PERFECT BLUE's ULTIMATE EDITION ALREADY!
Justin finished a version of the transfer as of 12 November- ready for QC. Please, just get to it already! If it's true that Shout is using the exact same encode, then the transfer done originally for your release will come out in America long before its UK release. It's baffling.

As far as I know, Shout has more extras than AL, so if the wait is due to licensing them, that's understandable- however, for a release that's been in the works for most likely over a year, it's crazy that official details haven't come out.

Oh, and please don't have it be an AL store exclusive. I'm not getting Shout's release because this UK edition will be much nicer, but if it's a store exclusive- I ain't getting it from you. (Maybe an eBay seller if I have to)

Looking at that release schedule I notice Anime Limited's last actual releases (that weren't a repackage or a Funi title) were Fireworks & March comes in like a lion on 26th Nov 2018. Their next release (again ignoring Funi titles) is March 25th with Maquia... am I missing something? That's FOUR months of nothing!
I get they haven't released their Q1 schedule apart from pigtails but even then we're nearly 3rd of the way threw Q1 so no time to get those magic pre order numbers.
Just seems really odd and slightly worrying in this current climate of every store and their mum going into administration.
 
especially when they are one of the few decent companies releasing meaning would have to go import heavy if they went due to not thinking much of some of the other uk CEs
 
also the total lack of update on Twin star, yee gads, the US have completed it already, how many have we got, 1 of 4, bit slow, wouldn't mind hearing what the hold up is, maybe we're getting a free moon with part 2 (sarcasm). If even everybodies fav US company can put it out with 2 month gaps between parts....
I won't finish that sentence, it goes nowhere nice.

Completely forgot they had Kakegurui. Looking forward to B: The Beginning as well if they can do a good collector's.
I know the original post hasn't been updated for a long time but is there a list of titles they've announced licensed and not released yet? I have a terrible memory but I'm coming up with not a lot.
