UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I've not gotten a despatch email before either, but the webstore is showing the order as Unfulfilled.

I'm sure it's a one time thing and there'll be no issues getting future stuff from them on time (or early) as has been the case previously. I won't be happy if my Dandy is late. :)

^ If Dandy is late, I would cry.

Just got my Tiger and Bunny set. The artbox looks great. I noticed that the digipack fits in more easily. I'm guessing they changed the sizes for this? (I'll have to compare them when I get home)

The box looks thicker and sturdier than the first one, too! :)

KLK and T&B both arrived today;

That Kill la Kill box looks stunning.

What was the packaging like?

I just took delivery on mine from Amazon (delivering on a Sunday even though I didn't ask/pay for special delivery!) and it was packed in one of their cardboard package envelope things.

Packaging on mine was a proper box, with brown paper all around it for cushioning. Inside the collectors box was the volume 3 set and then loads of cardboard to pad it out.

Arrived in superb condition. :)

Very happy with the outer collection box. Due to the minimal design and overall quality it's by far my favourite thing from Anime Limited, very impressed.

It seems a bit odd that the final retail release doesn't have an O-Ring for part 3. The MCM stock came with one but they all had the DVD logo rather than the BD one. I assume this is all down to the boxes for Part 3 having to be replaced.

Yes, the O-Ring's produced probably didn't fit the now slightly larger Digi-Pack :)

Also got KLK3 today, very impressed with the physical release.

Y'all don't just fold your obi up and slip them inside the case somewhere?

Got a mail from Amazon saying that my order with KlK & Tiger & Bunny was dispatched, so I'm hoping it'll arrive by Wednesday, it usually takes around 2-3 days, instead of arriving Friday like it's estimated. Fingers crossed.

Not super unusual as while Sony were fixing the digipacks I had them removed. The bellyband was never meant to be there to start with on that one and as they only printed the DVD one, we had it removed to avoid market confusion for anyone buying the discs (bellybands cost enough to not want to print corrected ones on a product that doesn't need them).

Also if you think on it - the lack of the bands is not a huge issue as when on the box they are meant to be on the bottom, which isn't even visible within the box :). So that was the logic on removing it - apologies for anyone who's twitching over it!

Considering that there were people such as myself that were confused upon seeing the DVD band, I'd say that's a fair enough reason to remove it.
You've already gone to the trouble of replacing the inner boxes, so I don't blame you for not reprinting the bands if it's not cost effective to do so.

Yup, I found that with leaving the bands on the first two parts, the fit in the larger box was just a little too snug, so I took the bands off - much easier to get them in and out that way.

Kill la Kill set 3 turned up from Base.com packaged in a box and unscathed. I know you were all dying to know, and now you do. Sleep easy, animeuknews.net forum posters.

As for the release itself, a chipboard art box to hold sets with chipboard slipcovers must be the very definition of "luxury". Just as well, really, as the different depths/spine widths of the individual releases would otherwise have kept me up at night for weeks. Maybe months.

My Kill la Kill set 3 arrived too today from Amazon, a nice black box. But due to Amazon sometimes terrible packaging on one top the corner got dented a bit. Also i thought the box would be of a more thicker material.

So i'm in a bit of doubt what to do with that box, either i'll actually keep it or just stash it in the space where i put all my other excessive goods, like FUNimation part 2 slip covers.
