UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Ah, that's a shame as I've yet to buy Movie 4 and would liked to have got that one but I assume I'd have to jump through hoops to get it, and probably cost a lot more too....never mind.
You could use a proxy service. From Japan is a good one, you just load the link from the atlus shop and follow the instructions. I used them to get the exclusive Rin from chara anis store.

Got a link to that proxy service ? Don't know From Japan, only dealt with Buyee before. Buyee in fact uses Tenso to forward the package.

AL just had to extend the Escaflowne offer by 1 week. I was finally content with not getting it (yet), but now I have another week of wrestling with the idea of actually buying it.

I'm in the same position. I was relatively happy to let this one go after pre-ordering Free! ES and Blood Blockade, especially considering I haven't seen it before, but now I'm back to square one. A big thing that's making the decision difficult for me is wanting to see comparison shots first, as Escaflowne was potentially done in that weird period where the colours in the encodes were coming out wrong.

Thanks for the tip, can't imagine that would be cheap though (already like £66 for a film from Amazon)....it's something to consider though as I would like the box (If it's not OOP).

So Andrew...

(Guess I'm gonna be the first one to ask)

Any word on if/how this Funimation/Crunchyroll partnership is gonna affect us? I know the news has LITERALLY just come out so I doubt any of us are expecting loads of gory details, but have you heard anything you can share?

Damn thats quite a delay, I've pre ordered anyway so I guess I'll just forget about it for a few months
I didn't think Claymore had a fixed release date yet, so I'm not sure it counts as a delay (as far as I can tell, the last news was that they were hoping to get it out by the end of the year).

I feel like there was a little list of the releases that Anime Limited expected to be done into November and I've basically been assuming that anything not on that list would be later (with a couple of possible but unlikely exceptions). I can't seem to find the list at the moment though, so I suppose that's not much use to say.

To be fair, I tend to just assume everything will be later than planned but at least that helps minimise any disappointment from delays.

Claymore was originally slated for the end of September but I never expected it to meet that deadline. I thought end of Oct beginning of November. The fact that we have not seen the set yet was a good indicator it was delayed anyway.

I don't think it'll impact that much to be honest in the UK except you'll be able to watch all subbed content in one place on CR and on Funi.com you can watch the dubs well ahead of release as they air. So it's big wins for dub fans who had to wait before - good news for those that just want to watch content subbed when it comes out.

For homevideo - not much changes and we're putting some pipeline in place just now to get back on track (takes a bit of time but it's always a learning process scaling upwards). I don't think much will change either for the records in terms of who has what content - remember for many years Manga's output was majority Funimation content and Viz media content - giving them the majority of shows which MVM and I did not get a look in on too.

Licensors don't like putting all their eggs in one basket so content will still be split off to other players and nobody wants to see anyone run out of the market (I certainly don't anyway)!

So TL;DR - not much will change from where we are now I'd say!

Here's a suggestion for Andrew and co.!

Since you're going to be releasing Persona 3 I was wondering if you would consider the option to include a box to hold all four films together with the UK release of the fourth (and final) film like the Japanese release did? The size would simply be the same as Sword Art Online II but the artwork for it is really nice.

Here's the box (pics courtesy of Blu-ray.com's Nostaglic Twilight):

Definitely considering a box with Film 4 :)! Will see what art we have!

Yeah, that P3 box looks amazing. I didn't know it existed until it was posted here, otherwise I would've looked into acquiring one when I bought the 4th film. Something nice like that for the UK would definitely help convince me to double dip on my JP LEs of the films.
