With Mai Mai Miracle, are you targeting a set similar in size to Patema or KLK? I backed the CE. I don't mind either way, I've discussed previously my preference for the KLK size over the other but I'm just genuinely interested in this instance. I'm guessing it's going to be KLK sized due to it not coming with a book and such and I'm guessing a digipack is coming with the CE due to the previous tiers specifying that they come with an amaray? Again, happy either way, I look forward to getting it when you're all done As a side note, can't wait for my LE LWA2 as well, would be funny if they both come around the same time
Thanks for the prompt reply as always! Look forward to hearing more about it next week if I remember the newswire correctly You've got a lot on your plate with a lot of awesome releases coming up throughout this year but I hope your experience with Kickstarter has been a positive and enlightening one and that you consider this method of getting things out there in the future with IP you might not feel feasible to just release on the market. Hopefully it allows for releases we might not otherwise see, in a package that does it justice for people who are interested.anime_andrew said:Hey hey - will be similar size to KLK as the artbook ships separately on this one !

Hopefully the update that we're supposed to get next week, barring any delays of course, will have some info on when it will start shipping!
It'd be neat if you could include how the Collector's Editions + art books will be sent out, in proper boxes with bubblewrap or other materials, or if it will be basic mailers. Any info on that part would be appreciated.

They appear to be a lot more viable than they were a few years ago, as previously it was a case of no dub = no release. Dubbing a series certainly increases the potential audience as many people won't buy a show without one.NoSurprises said:Not overly familiar with anime as a business, but how viable are sub only series releases in the UK? (MVM seem to be having some success with the Monogatari series, but as I understand it already has quite a following).
Pretty sure Andrew said he'll be doing a sub only BD for Samurai Flamenco. I'm 99% sure it won't get a dub as the series didn't seem to be all that popular, and actually bombed when it came to home video sales in Japan. (It did about as badly as Deadman Wonderland and Coppelion - so ~200-300 units per volume.) I'd imagine that AniplexUSA are either hesitant to release it due to awful sales in Japan, or they are not allowed to at the moment as a result of that. It's starting to get released outside of Japan now though, with volumes coming out in Germany.NoSurprises said:Reason I ask is; I quite enjoyed Samurai Flamenco, but I get the impression US license holders Aniplex perhaps didn't. Hence I'm starting to doubt it'll receive a dub. (My understanding could be way off here anyway, as I don't know if you're even entitled to those assets if they produce them?).

I'd buy both (and lots of other Sunrise classics) on BD!anime_andrew said:devilrules666 said:Yo man I am In a nightclub when I type this! Are you interested in bringing mai hime/otome? Did mai hime sell well when it was a beez title?
I salute your dedication to questions - it merits an answer then too! Looking at them definitely given their current BD status - nothing concrete to update as sales were always middle of road alas and have a few other Sunrise items higher on my agenda . Will get to that though!

It's funny as I'm the other side of that coin and I'd be far less likely to buy a ultimate edition if the art book didn't fit in the box, not sure why because as much as I enjoy art books, I flip through them once and never look again.shokoti said:I'd buy both (and lots of other Sunrise classics) on BD!
Also I wish all the Ultimate Editions would be like MMM and have the artbook separately and KlK style box (as I said in another thread) haha

Joshawott said:Hi Andrew! I have a rather peculiar question that I was wondering if you knew an answer to?
Last week, Hasbro announced that they had signed an agreement to release merchandise based on Yo-Kai Watch in 2016, which fits with comments made by Level-5's president about how the company plans to launch the franchise overseas this year (likely starting with the Nintendo 3DS games). Considering that Yo-Kai Watch's success in Japan is largely attributed to the TV anime series however, I was wondering if you've heard anything in regards to plans for an English-language localisation/release?
(Also, how likely do you think it would be for a company like Anime Limited to grab the license for Yo-Kai Watch? Or due to the nature of the beast, do you think the licensors might be wanting to court a more "mainstream" distributor?).
