True but they did say them aim for very close releases, 6 weeks isn't that close tbh

Firstly - who said it's 6 weeks? Our release date is November 30th - the US release date on Amazon and TRSI is November 3rd. By my count that is 3 weeks and 6 days, happy to be corrected though and we're certain to have stock in Amazon et al for the 30th!

For 3 weeks (even for 6 I'd say the same) vs the following isn't so bad either:

US price at cheapest via usual big sites: $48.99
Shipping: $11.73 approx
Customs should you be hit: Minimum £11

Total at today's rates for the Amaray box, Region A locked discs: £50.02 with customs | £39.02 if lucky and avoid.

US price at cheapest via usual big sites: £37.99 (Zavvi right now) | £44.99 on Amazon UK
Shipping: £0.00
Customs should you be hit: £0.00

Total cost, getting you rigid box with cool design plus Region B coded discs: £37.99 on Zavvi | £44.99 on Amazon.co.uk

Side note - would have day and dated, but you have to allow time for problems with masters or print delays. Nobody likes a date being pushed back (lord knows we have done it enough) that said we're getting stock in soon so you may have a chance to grab some pre-sale stock at a certain event ;).

TL;DR - You can pay less, get more and all it requires is less than 4 weeks waiting time.

Hope this helps!

Andrew

Rightstuf send releases out as soon as they get stock, so whilst the official date is November 3rd, people have been recieving the set over the last week or two. It's not exactly uncommon to get releases a few weeks before the stated date. I thought it was already out over there too if I'm honest.

Seeing as I haven't actually ordered MSG anywhere yet, I may have to come and see you again at this certain event :D

Good point on release dates - easy mistake to make but we are definitely not 6 weeks after the release as it'll be the same here :).

Worth coming by for sure - should have some other nice Q4 advanced stock too...

Best,

AP

Amazon did a £10 discount on orders over a certain amount (£50 I think) a while back (just for one day), so if you ordered it then while the set was listed with the RRP you could get the discount applied on top of the pre-order price guarantee. I'm guessing that's why it'd be £28 for some people.

This has given me A good laugh its that rightsuf is shipping it now three weeks early and i wasn't going import due to be not knowing if the release was REG Free and i do want the box i was just saying due to the early shipping ( as rightstuf is only seller) makes the "close" release much further

Official release gap of 3 weeks is close. Unofficial release gap of 6 weeks is still close imo. Given the fact I wont watch the show until I own the complete set, it really doesn't phase me. I'm not in that much of a rush to watch it.

Compared to other distributors and 6 months+ waits, this kind of thing is a godsend.

Still doth not change the value proposition and like their advanced sales are limited to their own shop, you may well find in some locations that varies for us too ;).

Either way, you can pay less and get more with our release so a small wait isn't the worst thing :D.

Glad I've entertained, my work here is done so back to Scotland Loves Anime for me!

I feel like Andrew missed the most obvious advantage of AL's release, that it will actually work in a region B player... :p
Well I haven't found anyone saying it WONT work in a REG B player

We might need to start, if Manga's recent Naruto release is anything to go by. :)

That made me laugh
Also Jerome said Manga don't have GE so it looks like ATA will have it is my guess

So Empire of Corpses has gone into the BBFC. It was submitted by Anime Ltd. which is interesting because they haven't announced they have it yet. :D

Assuming GE means GOD EATER (and I've no idea why you're obsessed with that series, it's mediocre at best), Aniplex of America has it for the UK, which coincidentally Andrew confirmed in passing on the last podcast.

Per Jerome's recent comments, it wasn't ever going to be Animatsu or Manga, AoA has good relationships with MVM and AL, so it'll probably end up at either of the two. Not for a while though, I imagine this'll be a title where UK distributors wait to see how cheaply they can get it...
