Anime Legend Outlaw Star Box Set To Cost £40?

I agree with others in that I reckon its best to keep the anime legends line for older shows being reissued cheaply...

That's the qualifier, innit? That's a good description of the range. Notice how that description reads a fair way differently from 'budget label'.

Great to see Beez are still considering Wings of Honneamise among other things (Venus Wars, that takes me back) I posted on here some ideas for it ages back so won't repeat it, a cheaper standard edition and a more expensive limited edition would do nicely.

I wonder if there would be anything to fill out a limited edition release for these features. Still - DO WANT! I just picked up a mint, second hand copy of Venus Wars from the USA. It's the sort of movie I'd happily pay for to replace with a nice shiny R2 version, though.

And Wings Of Honneamise really MUST happen. It's a breathtaking movie. I remember watching it with friends who weren't into anime at ALL, way back in the days of VHS. As the final credits were rolling, there were a few mutters of 'Wow - that was really something!'

I've always understood that the problem with Wings Of Honneamise is that, great as it is - and it IS a masterpiece of a movie, no doubts there - that doesn't necessarily translate to healthy sales.

Personally, I'd be none too fussed about having a release loaded with extras - although a soundtrack CD is a very nice idea!. I'd be happy to just have access to the movie to own.

Incidentally, I watched Venus Wars last night - no, it's not a big or clever film. But it IS still as much fun as it was back in 1992 when I first saw it!

I say if your going to send it out as something that's going to be £40 then remove the anime legends label from it. It's going to dilute the idea of that label being a "Platimum" line for anime.
This I agree with...
+1. Put it in a nice box like Bebop Remix and I'll happily lay my forty gold coins down on the counter.

£40 aint that bad for 26 episodes, considering if Outlaw Star had been released back in 2002/3 - it would have released in 6/7 volumes for £20 each - meaning £120-140.
