A bit of a debate, who here has read/watched Chrono crusade?

Hokum

Straw Hat Pirate
For those that have read and watched it. Do you agree that the anime is "religious" and the Manga agnostic?

In the anime the demons are actual demons, and there is a god. In the Manga, god is not refered to by the demons, which are actually aliens.

Also the different ending for Rosetta and Chrono, which do you prefer?

That bit about the demons is news to me...but overall i prefered the anime ending to the one the manga offered (read online about the ending to the manga series) I found it more touching, although i'm just going to guess that Chrono killed himself somehow in order to die at the same time that Rosette did

Like Wolf I just looked up the manga ending as I haven't actually read it, but I do in fact like the Anime ending more.. it was beautiful and sad

There are many theories about the manga ending. One being that Chrono is dead and Rosette only seeing him when she her self has passed to the other side, hence why he is still still injured after the final fight. Another is that as the contract was complete he could no longer be with her. But that its him which leaves a flower at her grave each year. Plus others.
Also you need to read further back as there is a alot before it which lead up to the end. Also you never see Rosette "dead" so they may of "left" together".

Also Father Remington, is much darker (he's not an angel) and interesting in the manga, Aion is a much more charismatic and likeable leader who cares for his subordinates. Pandemonium Is also very different in the Manga and the resulting reason why Chrono and Aion are hornless deamons.

I highly recommend the manga, as its only 8 volumes and if you liked the anime i think most liked the manga too.

I must say I'd consider them both to be religious, how else could the sacreds and barriers work against the demons otherwise?

I preferred the manga ending to the anime one as Aion seemed to have more of a plan than carting a gothic lolita rosette around performing miracles and the Magdalene order was able to do more with an airship battle against a risen pandemonium.

I also preferred the mangas take on Father Remington as an ordinary man infused with legion which he has to constantly concentrate on to prevent them killing him.

I've always interpreted the manga ending as Chrono surviving the battle having to rely on what little astral energy he could absorb naturally not wanting to undo the seal and use more of Rosette's life force hence the long time before his reappearance and his one armed appearance in the last chapter after which. After which Rosette died and Chrono stopped maintaining his body and died aswell so they could go together. I also thought that the flowers were either left by Fiore and Shader or the order of Magdalene.

well one could say it's just as equally

but then the only reason i have fondness in Air is that it centered on a H-game. wouldn't think things had to be all action to be intriguing

I have only the first volume of the manga of Chrono Crusade. It was quite good I will admit.

I have seen the entire anime and I adored it. I thought it amazing, especially the ending which was the closest scene from an anime to making me bear tears. It didn't but it was the closest to doing so.

I thought that the story was good in the anime but I cannot say much with regards to the manga as, like I stated, I have only read the first installment.

I watched some of the anime, and the religious aspects felt very cliched. Apparently Catholicism is the only denomination that exists to the Japanese. I stopped watching it because it just wasn't interesting me, even though I acknowledge what I saw was decent.

Anyway, no I don't think it was religious. Religion was merely a plot device.

Air>Chrono
This makes absolutely no sense. They're nothing alike to make a comparison and you haven't even seen one of them.
