    Animé/Manga Literate?

For a start, they would need to spell anime correctly - it's romanisation is not accented. They would also need to realise that anime and manga are not proper nouns and are therefore not capitalised. If they can express and articulate an opinion, and appreciate the medium, they are fully...

    Mai-Hime

If I recall correctly, Mai HiME was spread over 7 DVDs for its US release and over 6 DVDs for its european release. Well I would hardly call it a guilty pleasure. Its just a really enjoyable series. Its gorgeous to look at, the fights are spectacular (in fact some of them are really intense)...

A Good Place To Buy Manga In UK?

There is also http://www.bookdepository.co.uk which I like a lot. Delivery is free and they list import titles (makes them very handy if you are in IRL like me). List price tends to be a bit higher, but free delivery makes up for it. There is also http://www.amazon.co.uk make sure you do...

What manga are you reading now?

I read Nodame Cantabile vol.6 which has a bit more of a serious tone than the previous volumes. I also read Remote vol.9 - this seems to be getting close to a consistent plot now, as in the closing moments, an old nemesis of Himuro is introduced, which threatens to shed light on his condition...

More Nodame Cantabile - 02 - yes its good. Also Code Geass - 14 more interesting goodness here, as Zero is unmasked, and a genuinely unexpected and poignant episode ending. I also watched the first episode of Pani Poni Dash which was a bit interesting to say the least. Cute, and pretty...

    New anime licenses from FUNimation

Thats because it is actually pretty unique. Tactics is a bit close in terms of plot, period setting, and supernatural pretext, Kinos Journey isn't far off either. Mushishi is simply astounding though. It has this massive layer of atmosphere, laid down with impressive visuals and an excellent...

    New anime licenses from FUNimation

Monster would make for a good US-based TV anime. I think any licensor is thinking that the show needs a TV airing to make its moneys worth. FYI the manga, published by Viz is not selling particularly well. Monster anime fans aren't really buying it, and monster anime fandom is not inspiring...

Code Geass- Lelouch of the Rebellion

I love it, and my opinions of it are much the same as your own. It could have totally hammed it up initially, and Lelouch himself is a bit unbelievable - his Zero alter-ego and casual disregard for human/ally/enemy/civilian life is almost artificial and at odds with his real personality. Its...

    Violence & Videogames

A friend of mine has 4 kids - eldest in her early teens and he is big gamer. He pays attention to the certs, he knows (and loves GTA, all versions) but he is strict about what he lets the kids play.

    Recomend me Anime

Not in the sub. The dub embellishments changed that story in important ways. Hint: watch the very ending, Gigi's last words in both dub & sub, and compare with Kiki's final expression. Its not too bad, unlike the butchery that Laputa underwent where it was entirely rescripted and the pirates...

    Violence & Videogames

Its more the parents. I have heard one mother commenting that she would only get GTA 3 (original 18 cert) for her kids because San Andreas being the newest is obviously far worse. All the laws are in place. Video game bans have a lot more to do with outright censorship, than protection of...

Hmm. I watched the first 2 episodes of Soukou no Strain. This one looks interesting, while waiting for more, I started into Code Geass. I heard it was camp as christmas, but its sunrise anime so you always have to give them a shot. Was plenty surprised, its still camp as hell, but it is very...

Nodame Cantabile sets viewing record for late night TV anime

Its a great manga, really funny. And the Live Action adaption was meant to be very good. This manga series is on the Nana scales of popularity in Japan.
