General TV Discussion

It's been almost a year and a half since Netflix added WWE shows to their library, and I'm forced to wonder how the hell anyone manages to keep up to date with this stuff. My original plan was to watch the Attitude era of the late 90s, but when I saw how patchy Netfix's coverage is for that period I decided to watch the modern era from the start of 2022, which is where they start having all the episodes uploaded.

There are three weekly shows, amounting to five hours per week if you watch all of them, plus a 3-4 hour special event per month. When I'm in the mood for watching it, I'll typically watch about 1-3 hours per day for a couple of months. As a result, I've only managed to get through nine months of shows in the last sixteen months, even though I've started skipping past matches for wrestlers who don't interest me. I've loved most what I've seen so far, but I doubt I'll ever catch up at this rate. I guess I could drop one or more of the weekly shows, since they all have their own separate rosters and storylines for the most part, but there are people I like on all of them.

The main thing that surprised me about the current era is how much it feels like a live-action anime at times. The camerawork has become very dynamic, and there are some fearless high-flyers who treat the laws of physics like they're barely a suggestion.
