What did you RECEIVE today? PHOTOS EDITION!

A few titles have arrived recently:

Firstly from CeX - I used up some vouchers to get this - I had picked up this set up from eBay recently, but that copy was a reseal job with all the discs swapped out for the 2009 film (odd I know).

Next up is this haul from Refuse Films, a newer UK-based boutique label who have also been putting out various Troma releases. These were a total blind buy as the bundle was nicely discounted and I wanted to check out a new label.

Finally from eBay a long-OOP UHD release from Eureka that I obtained for a reasonable price.

Grab bag of different things. Vermeil in Gold from Anime-On-Line. Lupin the 3rd: The Mystery of Mamo and Hulk Epic Collection Volume One from eBay. Sandman Mystery Theatre Compendium 2 from Amazon (with all the bangs and dents you’d expect from an Amazon delivery). Most importantly is flower by DK. Which is an artbook I ordered online from Japan a few weeks ago that arrived this week through Japan Post. It arrived ahead of schedule and it appears Japan Post is handling the current disruptions to international shipping well.
 
Haven't posted hauls for a while, so I thought I'd do an update! - so this is part one of the hauls, since my last post.
Biggest pickup is the new MacBook Neo, as I wanted to replace my iPad Air 5th Gen. I went for the Indigo color with 512 GB and Touch ID. I've always liked macOS more than iPadOS, so it's nice that Apple has released a budget-friendly MacBook.

For media, I've gotten the following four releases:
  • One Piece - Collection 39 (BD/DVD)
  • Pokémon - Sun & Moon - Ultra Legends (DVD) - which also marks the last season I needed.
  • Tom & Jerry - The Golden Era Anthology (BD)
  • Cloud / Charisma (BD)

For manga, I've received four volumes:
  • Imaizumi Brings All the Gals to His House - Volume 2
  • Imaizumi Brings All the Gals to His House - Volume 3
  • Imaizumi Brings All the Gals to His House - Volume 4
  • Imaizumi Brings All the Gals to His House - Volume 5

For art books, I've also received four, those being:
  • Dark Souls - Design Works
  • Dark Souls 2 - Design Works
  • Dark Souls 3 - Design Works
  • Elden Ring - Official Art Book - Volume 3 (I now have all three art books, both Books of Knowledge, with the Nightreign coming later, and the three art books from the Collector's Editions)

I made use of the latest sale at Weta Workshop and picked up three statues:
  • Lurtz - Hunter of Men (1/6 scale Classic Series)
  • Gandalf - The Grey Pilgrim (1/6 scale Classic Series)
  • Aragorn - Hunter of the Plains (1/6 scale Classic Series)

Continuing with figures, I've picked up three, with two of them being on display:
  • Valkyrie - Chozo Art from Medicos (now I have all three horses!)
  • Malenia from the Collector's Edition of Elden Ring (now I have all three figures from the three Collector's Editions!)
  • The Great Wave - Ichiban Kuji

Lastly, I also made use of the TASCHEN sale in the start of February, where I managed to get four books, which were on my list (hopefully the rest of my wishlist will be in the next sale):
  • Hokusai XXL (29 x 39.5 cm, 722 pages and 6.95 kg)
  • Leonardo XXL (29 x 39.5 cm, 712 pages and 8.19 kg)
  • Japan 1900 XL (25 x 34 cm, 536 pages and 3.50 kg)
  • Van Gogh - The Complete Paintings (21 x 26 cm, 752 pages and 3.10 kg)

Finally, I've also been purchasing doujinshis and I've received more than 110 doujins since last time. I won't be posting them for now, as I have to censor them for the most part. Also, they're kinda spread around my storage, so I have to find them, lol.

Back from my holiday in Japan. Brought back quite a number of souvenirs, including a lot of merch from Only Yesterday, my favorite anime. Most of it was found on my final day in Tokyo, so I was quite lucky to have found this much, as it's very difficult to find any merch from that movie.

Aside from the Only Yesterday merch I was also extremely lucky to find the Kyoko figure during my stay in Japan. I've visited countless figure stores, but only one store had any Maison Ikkoku figurines at all (found on my second day in Japan!)

I love Only Yesterday and Maison Ikkoku thankyou so much for sharing, is that fish thingy with the open mouth a Gyarados bag or? :)

I couldn't believe my eyes when I found so much Only Yesterday merch on my final day in Japan! In the first 11 days I was only able to find the cd and the small item next to it. I also found a movie poster, but all Ghibli stores had these, so it wasn't a rare find. Then on the 12th day I finally found 'The Art of Only Yesterday' which I never found in my previous trip to Japan in 2023 and didn't find the other 11 days. On that same day I encountered that specific difficult to find book two more times! All the other items were also found during this final day in numerous stores. My friends who were with me started mocking me after a while 😂

The Gyarados-item on the right is a small towel, the one on the top is a koinobori, a windsock.

That was a completely random find in Kyoto on a random corner on the street! I immediately knew I had to buy it. The same thing happened with the Maison Ikkoku record which has the 5th ending theme (Sayonara no Dessan) which is my favourite ending of that series. These two records sparked a new hobby. Next time I'm visiting Japan I'm going to hunt for old anime records :cool:

I was also quite lucky to find Kirby's Dream Land and X for the Gameboy. These were also only encountered once during my entire stay. Same thing with the Kimagure Orange Road magazines.

Oh, I also see a few Ocean Waves items in your haul, Puringa - that is another favorite Ghibli movie of mine, along with Only Yesterday, Whisper of the Heart, and From Up on Poppy Hill. I really love the slice-of-life romance titles from Ghibli. Also Porco Rosso and Howl's Moving Castle for the romance in them too, although there are some fantasy aspects in those as well.

I own that same The Art of Only Yesterday art book you have in your photo, along with 21 more matching "The Art of" art books for most of Ghibli's other movies. The only ones I don't have art books for are Grave of the Fireflies, Pom Poko, and The Boy and the Heron.

I've just had this arrive at Stackry so looking forward to getting my hands on it soon! this movie really surprised me when I originally watched it, for some reason I thought I wasn't going to enjoy it much but it became one of my favourite Hosoda movies.
