The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

Pre-ordered from Amazon (U.S.)
  • Lupin the Third: The Immortal Bloodline
  • Sailor Moon Crystal (S1 - S3)
I'd originally pre-ordered Lupin via the GKIDS Store but decided to opt for Amazon instead to save on delivery costs by combining my order with Sailor Moon.

I didn't realise Crystal was releasing so soon but I'll let it sit at Stackry for now to combine with Lupin and Re:Zero S3 in July.

Pre-ordered from Crunchyroll for a future Stackry Haul:
Lupin the 3rd - TV Specials Collection 2 BD
Patlabor - The Original OVA Series BD
When they Cry: Kai BD
When they Cry: Rei BD

(Plus non-anime Toku Time title Kamen Rider: Stronger BD)

Ordered from Crunchyroll US:
In the Land of Leadale -
Complete Series (Blu-ray)
The Healer Who Was Banished From His Party, Is, in Fact, the Strongest - Complete Series (Blu-ray)

Pre-ordered from Ebay:
Yandere Dark Elf: She Chased Me All the Way From Another World! -
Complete Series (LE SteelBook)

Pre-ordered from Amazon (U.S.)
  • Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- (S3) (LE)
I was originally planning to pre-order this via the Crunchyroll Store but it seems that it is sold out at this point in time.

After the mess with the UK release with who was releasing S2 over here, I decided just to stick with the U.S. version going forward as I have the U.S. LE of S2 and to keep it somewhat consistent. For S1 I have AL's re-release of the limited edition art box as opposed to their original two-part CE. At least all my Re:Zero LE's are one release each and not split this way.

To Every You I've Loved Before/To Me The One Who Loved You-I saw these 2 movies a few years ago and really liked them a lot. They reminded me of Yu No-A Girl Who Chants Love At The Bounds Of This World which is sci fi parallel dimension story as is To Every You and as a copy was not expensive I just went ahead and purchased it.

A couple haul updates from the past month or so. I've ordered a few from MediaOCD's store.

Batch 1 we have:
  • Alien Nine (Blu-ray)
  • The Daggers of Kamui (Blu-ray)
  • Fist of the North Star: The Legends of the True Savior: Legend of Kenshiro (Blu-ray)
  • Fist of the North Star: The Legends of the True Savior: Legend of Raoh: Chapter of Death in Love (Blu-ray)
  • Fist of the North Star: The Legends of the True Savior: Legend of Raoh: Chapter of Fierce Fighting (Blu-ray)
  • Fist of the North Star: The Legends of the True Savior: Legend of Yuria & Legend of Toki (Blu-ray)
  • Hotori: Simply Wishing for Hope (Blu-ray)
  • Legendary Armor Samurai Troopers (Blu-ray)
  • Osamu Tezuka's A Thousand and One Nights (Blu-ray)
This consists of releases from Discotek Media's Deep Dive batch from May, plus three recent AnimEigo releases. This should dispatch in the next week or so as these Deep Dive titles were expected to ship during this month.

Batch 2 we have:
  • Dancouga: Super Beast Machine God (Blu-ray)
  • Space Pirate Captain Harlock (Blu-ray)
For this one it was a quick haul to ensure that I got my order sorted for the long out of print release of Dancouga. These two were both part of Discotek Media's Deep Dive batch for June. They're not expected to ship until mid-July so I'll likely consolidate them with anything Sentai Filmworks offers in their sales this Summer which would likely mean I won't receive this until August.

Batch 3 we have:
  • Hana Yori Dango (SD-BD)
  • Monster - Collection 1 (Blu-ray)
  • Sgt. Frog: The Original Movies 1-5 Collection (Blu-ray)
  • Sketchbook ~full color's~ (Blu-ray)
  • Vampire Princess Miyu (Blu-ray)
  • Zegapain (Blu-ray)
Here we have four pre-orders from Discotek Media's August 2026 line-up as well as two upcoming AnimEigo releases, one of which is a limited release due to issues with approvals so this was a good opportunity to get that bundled in. I also used up all of my store points to bring the price down as these are pretty big SRP releases. Because of Miyu's release window I don't expect to receive this until at least early October at best.

As for anything else I am reducing the number of purchases from Anime Limited in terms of collector's editions because I don't feel I can tolerate the idea of owning numerous sets that use Amaray/Scanavo case, a few art cards, a poster and a small booklet anymore because they can take up too much space and other factors. I want to focus more on CEs that have a good amount of content like Bleach, Dangers in My Heart and Gundam SEED FREEDOM have with their booklet so I am being more selective from this year forward. So if you think it'll be getting the CEs for Sakamoto Days or Undead Unluck, unfortunately I'm not as I'm going for the standard editions instead.

@NormanicGrav I’ve also found myself buying less Anime CEs lately, mainly due to focusing on Discotek’s ever-growing (yet also dwindling stock-wise) catalogue (not to mention all the great boutique releases from the likes of 88Films, Arrow Video etc.)
Yeah the boutique labels do a much better job at balancing between rigid box sets and regular releases, plus the prices have better value also.

It's honestly surprising that it's taken this long for me to change direction like this, granted I did that before when I couldn't afford to get a few Funimation LEs during University. I'll still grab specific releases from AL like Macross and Gundam but others are on a 'let's see' approach.

Since I have a limited budget (who doesn't?) I've never gone out of my way to get deluxe releases opting instead for standard ones as I value content more than fancy slipcases and various trinkets such as key chains, sticker sets, etc. And I don't need hard cover books about the making of or character bios either. I think the deluxe NIS sets I got were the biggest offenders of this although they didn't cost much more than their standard releases.

My June and soon July batch of anime is looking strong as it's filled with culture new titles and nostalgic deep dives.

Heavy Metal L-Gaim and Dancouga Super Beast Machine God.
Two 80s mecha anime I've been interested of grabbing especially the latter where my copy didn't go through on time due to people in the States panic brought the thing.

Gundam 00 Movie Collection and Gundam Seed Freedom Blu-Ray.
Finally managed to find 00 movie for a reasonable price.
Seed Freedom for better or worse is going to a soild addition to my Gundam collection, although I wish AL also had Gundam X and 08th MS Team announced as a 30th anniversary thing.

Medabots Sprits Japanese Blu-Ray.
Got that due to FOMO as well wanted to finish my Medabots collection before I fully lock into Discotek Digimon Blu-Ray collection next month with the 2 movies and 02 Japanese Blu-Ray Edition

Was originally going to grab them now, but I wanted to lock in for the potential GTA 6 Special/Deluxe Edition when it becomes available on the 25th of June.

Lastly Pokemon XY Saga Collection via Viz Media.
Originally I was only going to end my mini Pokemon home collection with the DP, but after watching some eps of XY again and realising how much I like that series, I decided to cave in and buy all 3 season's and the movie collection.

Pokemon Sun and moon series (all collections) 2 x dvd 1 x bluray
I grew up with the Indigo league and the orange islands and loved it, but me watching Pokemon kinda fizzled out from that point on.
Recently I've been rewatching a bit and the itch grew to watch something new. I've read that sun and moon is disliked because the style is so different, but that is what makes me curious about it. And when I was a child, I always wanted to hang out with pokemon more than I wanted to fight with them and it seems that this series is more about slice of life and worldbuilding. Plus the tropical theme fits the current temperatures:). So I'm kinda hyped! The only weird thing is that I could only find a bluray version of the middle collection, whats up with that?

Looking up to the full moon part 1 and 2 bluray

More shoujo! I heared this was a good one, the restoration looks lovely and I want to support this release so hopefully more shoujo will be licensed.

Pre-ordered from All the Anime
  • The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (4K Deluxe Edition)
This is the Hosoda movie I've been looking forward to owning on 4K the most as it used to be my favourite anime movie at one point.

Not including franchise movies this will complete my Hosoda collection though we'll see if Mirai gets a 4K, feels odd leaving that movie out now all the rest have one.
