AL, is Gundamn 79 part 2 ever getting restocked?

Seems like HMV have jumped the Godzilla announcement. Deluxe Edition and a steelbook.

So have Rarewaves.

I know there was some stuff about the extras not being subtitled in the earlier release, but it looks like they are in AL's releases (although, not sure if these are the same extras that people were going on about):

On disc (w/ English, French and Italian subtitles):
  • Making of the film
  • Making of VFX
  • Special program for the release of the movie “Behind the scenes: Godzilla -1.0- No.30 - Toifumono
  • Event footage (Press Conference, World Premiere Red Carpet Event, Talk event by Takashi
  • Yamazaki, etc.)
  • Trailer collection

Of course the black and white version is on the version that’s more than double the cost
Sigh

Damn, thanks for pointing that out. I was just about to pre-order the steelbook edition. That's so annoying, just give me both versions of the film in a standard case/box.

Is this a theme with AL? I remember the ADV dub for Neon Genesis was locked behind the collector's edition. I can imagine there are other instances. Perhaps it's a licencing thing.

A steelbook with both versions of the film + bonuses for around £40 would have been ideal. A standard edition of just the B/W version would have been nice for the same price as the regular standard edition Blu-ray. I wonder if there'll be a standard edition 4K eventually - you could mix 'n' match then (i.e., standard 4k + standard B/W Blu-ray).

But then I guess they want to gear customers toward the super mega deluxe edition by having the B/W version exclusive to that set.

This is 100% on Toho, Minus Color is locked to the expensive sets in Japan and the US too.

The Minus Color version was also exclusive to the Deluxe Edition in North America, so it's a Toei limitation. It did receive a completely separate Standard Edition release in Japan (that didn't include the regular version), but the only way to own both it and the regular in the same package was the Deluxe.

I edited my comment to mention this, a standard edition B/W version would be ideal.

IIRC the US Godzilla Store version didn't translate the booklet, but there's English text on that preview image. Whether the booklet has the same contents is a different question.

Also it's saying region B, while the US version is region free, so there are some apparent differences.

UPDATE: Steelbook already sold out.

I’ve never used rare waves but assume they’re legit?
If they’re cheapest come 5pm I’ll order from them
Yeah, a good few people have ordered from them. Shipping is €7 to the EU if you're outside the UK.

They're in the IOSS so there's no additional customs, but shipping is slow due to this as well. The EU really need to sort that and have the IOSS clearance be done in the destination country instead of a master in pile for the entire block in the Netherlands.

Can concur with @sniper_samurai. I've used them multiple times, never had any issues. They can take a while to despatch (if you're used to Amazon Prime) as mentioned, but everything I've ordered from them has arrived and in brand new condition.

Yeah rarewaves are fine, and as other have said not always the fastest at dispatches sometime (guessing depends on the item), Packaging isn't always fantastic (my last CE set was jiffy bags filled with hope).

The only thing that bugged me at the time about them recently was I recently managed to save up enough point for a £20 voucher, and said voucher can't be used with a 10% off event, also even though the voucher was worth £20 also had to pay Postage as my order didn't count as over £20 for free postage
