Funimation "Pulls" Streaming for Interspecies Reviewers

Most probably Funimation's fault rather than Sony because of AnimeLab and Wakanim continuing.
Doubt it. Sony also own Animelab and Wakanim, though Sony Music as opposed to Sony Pictures Television and those services are continuing their simulcasts of the series.
Technically AnimeLab and Wakanim are part of Funimation (Funimation says "Funimation and AnimeLab are now the same company" on the Funimation subscribe page, and Madman/AnimeLab called Funimation their parent company in their fundraiser).

The world thinks interspecies reviewers is dead
And they must think it is dead
Until the licensors slip a home release past the notice of their parent companies

dun dun duuun dun

So it was in fact the American arm that got scared. I suppose it’s anyone’s guess as to which side of the political spectrum’s anti-sex brigade they thought would complain and inflict more damage on their brand. Perhaps they feared Interspecies Reviewers might cause them to combine into some sort left-right puritan chimera.

Seems a certain AniTuber has told his fans to rate it 10 on MAL.
It seems to also have forced MALs hand in releasing the script to fix the bot problem a bit quicker, although this is a bit different. Looking through a few of the people who have done it, most seem to have existing accounts rather than people signing up just to rate one title.

I find them a good guide, but not the be all and end all. If I'm picking out an older show I'll look at a few things like the premise, director and/or writer and decide if it sounds interesting or not. I watch a lot of seasonal now, so obviously the score has no bearing on what I chose to watch.
This is just funny, but the Chihayafuru situation is annoying as season 3 has been excellent so far.

It favours popular shows over good ones the fact maid dragon is above Sound S1 (And All Free material) is a mystery to me
This, but also new over old. That's why I only use MAL to keep track of what I watched and what I plan to watch.

Eh SOL anime tends to be throw away entertainment for me. Yea I could say something like Lucky Star was "good" but I sure as heck won't be looking for a rewatch in this century.

Yeah Shounens are hard for me too. I gave up halfway through FMA (I will go back I swear) and I haven't seen anything of Hunter X Hunter. As you said too long and never ending. I already have Berserk for that :p

I post a lot on MAL but I don't pay any attention to their ratings-I watch a few episodes and make my own judgements. I've watched all 4 episodes of Interspecies Reviewers uncensored and I like it.

Japan - the guys that seriously need the show for propaganda...

Is it me or are we entering another prude era? I would blame the left as they seem to be as bad as conservatives apart from outright cancelling the stuff they want to censor, but politically Japan has been much more conservative than the west is now

I don’t get why people are moaning you can’t buy porn in a normal shop it seems it’s just become porn. So maybe some hentai people will license it, and sell as porn.

I am really curious about this now as seeing a show dropped mid-run in Japan is unusual. How far did it push things compared to other shows?!

There was zero evidence that Funimation dropping it had anything to do with the imaginary bogeymen of 'the SJWs' or 'the left' in the first place so I wouldn't put much stock in the conspiracy theorists acting like that's the real story. They have released enough utterly tasteless trash in the past to invalidate that line of thought. I would really, really love an official statement though. My curiosity is burning - even though I honestly doubt it's a good enough show to be worthy of so much thought!

The thing I'm most curious about is whether they're dropping the license and whether someone like Sentai will pick it up if they do. We still haven't seen an uncut Hybrid x Heart from anyone (which is a shame as I enjoyed the butchered stream) even though Funimation mysteriously pulled its release years ago now. It ticks me off when people sit on rights they have no intention of using.

Apparently they still have Valkyrie Drive Mermaid on their site, if I remember right that’s as good as banned video in the UK. I’ve said before and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thinks so, but it’s Sony catching up to them, Funi themselves would actually want to do it

Having rewatched episode 3 uncensored, one scene that was completely blacked out on the censored version definitely went to hentai levels with dildo insertion, but pixelated as per Japanese porn laws! But I think that was the worst offence so far in terms of becoming hentai rather than ecchi i.e. no actual penis insertion is shown.

When its not doing the sex scenes it's either doing a bit of fantasy stuff or the characters are bantering about various things which is good fun. All the sex stuff makes sense within the lore of the world and the characters motivation to do the titular Reviews.
So like most hentai, it's porn with a plot, just animated and acted to a higher/normal anime standard. I'd say extreme ecchi rather than a straight hentai though.
