Yeah, I totally agree that the reveal of the culprit was just totally out of the blue. I was expecting this show to actually spend time on the characters so you could get to know each a little bit and how they interact so there could be some attempts at hinting/foreshadowing/building suspense. Instead it's been a case of murder, trial, reveal, murder, trial, reveal. With absolutely nothing in between.

I hear that the original game has a lot of that. My friend tells me that the anime adaptation is actually really poor - I mean, the cast is huge to begin with and they have to try and fit it all into a single cour. It wasn't going to work.

And then there's them just re-using the game cut-scenes for the executions, which is incredibly jarring and sloppy.

18-21 of Berserk. WHY DID I NOT WATCH THIS SOONER. Amazing show. I'm scared to watch the next lot of episodes, I have a bad feeling .. :S

Chronicles of the Going Home Club ep 3-4. It's getting better but it is amazing how little actually happens. 10 minutes waiting for the pitcher to throw the ball in a baseball episode, it basically has 'cost cutting' written all over it. That's probably why the fourth wall was completely destroyed in episode four, if you can't hide the cost cutting then make fun of it.

Also, Strike Witches s1 ep 1-4.
 
so im watching waiting in the summer and i saw high school of the dead in the pictures the main characters saw, and that this series reminds me of the series please teacher and please twins, its almost uncanny

Heh, that's no coincidence, it's from the same writer. It's basically the third in the series, you could comfortably call it "Please Senpai!" and it'd work, though it isn't officially connected to the first two.

Steins; Gate volume 1 - NOOOOO!! You can't leave me on a cliffhanger like that and force me to wait for the next volume! That's just cruel :( Great show. Watched the dub because I really like J. Michael Tatum and I am glad I did because they made me laugh my ass off. Which of course made the end of episode 12 all the more gut wrenching. I love sci-fi anime, so this is right up me street, volume2 soon plz!
