Akame ga Kill ep21. Why does everyone insist on explaining to their deadliest foes their advantages and weaknesses and then act surprised when they get killed?

I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying ep1-7. What a cute couple they make, and in a believable way as well. This show does expose just how little I know of Otaku culture, there were so many terms used in the jokes that I've never heard before.

Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road s2ep8.

As much as this is a comedy show (and a really funny one at that), I also really like how it portrays an adult relationship, instead of the usual rehash of teenage will they/won't they we've seen so many times in anime. Puts a fresh spin on romance and the compromises and quirks of any mutual relationship.

Attack on Titan episodes 14-17

That female Titan rather looks like the cadet who went off to join the Military Police in the earlier episode.

My Patema Inverted Kickstarter disc arrived today, which was a very pleasant surprise, can't wait to watch it at the weekend, and I think my Bubblegum Crisis BD will be here in a few weeks as well!

Fairy Tail - eps 1-35

Been slowly making my way through this over the past few weeks and wanted to jot down some thoughts on it.

I'd been put off watching Fairy Tail for a long time for similar reasons as One Piece, as I thought the art style looked slightly funky and also as I was still going through Naruto and Bleach and didn't want to start another Shonen series.

But boy am I glad I finally decided to check it out - if anything, I'd almost be tempted to say I prefer it to Naruto etc because it seems to cut out so much of the fat that plagues some of the older Shonen series. It feels fresh, fun and modern and most importantly - it gives the female characters something to do. I was so fed up of the likes of Sakura and Orehime being the third wheel in Naruto and Bleach, whereas in Fairy Tail, Lucy and Erza get just as much screen time, if not more, than their male counterparts.

The series does emotion and backstory very well too - introducing it at the right moments, and with surprising poignancy.

My only major criticism would be a) some of the fanservice where Lucy is concerned is pretty tasteless, and b) a lot of the villains never feel like real threats.
