I swear Koko defied the laws of physics when she flew after her dad slapped her. Also whenever it seems like they're finally going to end this unhealthy relationship, it just keeps getting saved. Still, each episode keeps flying by and I'm itching to see exactly how it finishes.

A pretty powerful episode, but I'm really mixed on Koko's dad. I mean, when he hit Koko as hard as he did I wanted to thump him. However, his behaviour in the rest of the episode was a completely different person - making it more likely likely that him striking Koko was out of how scared he probably was that Koko was in an accident. Especially compared to how relaxed he was later in the episode and how tolerant he was of Banri and such.

A pretty powerful episode, but I'm really mixed on Koko's dad. I mean, when he hit Koko as hard as he did I wanted to thump him. Golden Time ep 16:
What the rass was going on in the last 5 minutes of this episode? The whole thing with the father. Was that meant to be some light humorous relief? It was so bizarre, mood killing and nonsensical. Speaking of the father, I'm not quite sure how we're supposed to take that ******** as comedic relief or some sort nice guy after we just saw him backhand an undeserving Koko into another dimension like 5 ******* minutes prior. Banri made ******* noodles for him. What the ****.
We knew right from the door that this is what the show is ultimately all about though. The relationship will always be saved, as they are destined to be together.Linda has no chance. I think the set up of the show makes it's intentions pretty clear, and if that didn't, the openings make it pretty explicit that there is only one girl for Banri. If I'm wrong, then that's one hell of a red herring the makers of this show have orchestrated.

That's a fair point Vash. Gonna make a comparison between Golden Time and Toradora, so spoilers for both.
With Toradora, Taiga and Ryuuji were similarly telegraphed. I could totally believe that a relationship between Ryuuji and Minorin would work just as well, but I thought Taiga and Ryuuji's relationship was so genuine that the way events played out were natural and fitting. As a result, I was totally fine with the way Toradora ended.
With Golden Time, it's kind of different. I find Koko absolutely captivating as a character, even though I can't say that I like her personality. In that respect, I can absolutely understand why Banri felt an attraction there. I totally admire his actions in episode 6 when he forced the issue with Koko to move things forward. What I didn't buy at the time, and still don't, is Koko reciprocating and agreeing to enter a relationship.
It's an interesting angle for a series to take, looking at a relationship that doesn't feel right from the beginning. A very different approach to Toradora. While I like Linda a lot, I'm not opposed to the Banri/Koko pairing in principle. What I'm worried about is the series ending by presenting the current Koko and Banri relationship, with all the neediness and emotional blackmail, as healthy. The longer it goes on like this, the more I worry. That's what keeps me watching every week though, so they're doing something right!
