So little. :(

Now only up to date on Horizon, Bakuman, Gundam, and... that might be about it. All of those were pretty good again this week, for very different reasons.

Oreimo 7-9

I was worried that the series had well and truly jumped the shark with the shenanigans of episode 8, but it was back to its hilarious best in episode 9. I took a chance on this show and it's turning out to be one of the best things I've watched this year.
Yesssssssss. You don't know how legitimately happy I am to read that. (This is like the nice version of "I told you so")

I'm quite glad with the way Bakuman 2 is shaping up, it's keeping me guessing for sure. I do sort of wonder how long this hospital arc is going to be though.

Giant Robo will totally be a 9 or 9.5!

I'm zooming through Vampire Knight Guilty at the moment. It's a guilty (har har) pleasure but I'm really enjoying it.

Less than 10 and I'm punching a kitten.

My Demon City Shinjuku DVD arrived so I rewatched that. And... yeah. Definitely not Kawajiri's best but it's got atmosphere and sleek designs. The remastered transfer is a bit disappointing, though it does look a fair bit better than CPM's release.

Spoilering as AF has still to watch it but, if I'm reading this right and Giant Robo was never properly finished, did any details ever surface on how the story was supposed to pan out? As it stands, my overriding memory of the series is of it being Grave of the Fireflies-level depressing.

Having just seen it on ANN, I like the cover for the new release of DCS. The logo has a retro, exploitation movie quality to it, which seems wholly appropriate.

Apparently the Giant Robo OVA was conceived as being the middle part of a trilogy, so while it's essentially self-contained I believe there was always supposed to be a prequel and a sequel made at some point. Unfortunately it cost a fortune to make and never recouped said fortune, so that was that.

Heh, it does as well.

Un Go 4-5

I'm certainly enjoying it. It does still feel like their trying to condense a lil too much into 25 min episodes, and some of the details of the cases are a wee bit implausible. But its still fun and the characters interesting. To be honest I'm more interested in the world and characters then the individual cases, but it's still shaping up pretty good.

Mobile Suit Gundam AGE 5-6

I find it hard to see why Captain Grodek wasn't in the Top 3 in the recent character poll. He's seriously badass. Shame that no two sites seem to spell his name the name...

But er...how did Vargas get the Gundam into the city so quickly? Aside from that "wtf?" this series is definitely getting interesting now.
