Air episodes 7-12

I really enjoyed the series :) and episode 12 really made me cry when Misuzu died :(
I told you :p the ending is one of the most emotional I've ever seen in anime.
Air Summer is a odd.
Yep you did :p I had to watch some comedy afterwoods to cheer me up :)
He, some azumanga daioh wouldn't go amiss =)

That is what I watched as it always cheers me up =D

^ My guessing powers are as sharp as ever, it seems :p

Watching Hayate, the combat butler.

Where is the combat in this series? Anyway, it's fun as hell, I've rushed through the first series and now I'm watching episode nine of the second season.
Top anime.

There is some in season 2, the duel with Hinagiku for instance. Sadly doesn't get as far as the one with Izumi's brother over the pit of lava. Complete with wardrobe malfunction, caused by clothes spontaneously igniting.

It's mostly a harem love comedy with the highest tsundere count of basicaly any series ever, 5+

April. That's when I began watching Eureka Seven. I only completed it yesterday. In my defence, I did have important matters to attend to between now and then.

Best thing I've watched since I last posted in this thread:

Angel Beats! episode 10.

The whole series was very good but had potential to be slightly better than it turned out - this episode, however, really moved me.

Amagami has had a cool start, I guess it falls into "if you like this sort of thing, you will like this sort of thing".

DenYuuDen is also fun.

Watched the first episode of Occult Academy and it was far better than I'd expected - it's actually pretty funny.
Yesssssss glad someone else is watching this.

Interesting little discussion you guys had on WHR, I personally love the series and the designs (especially Robin herself), but I definitely see where you're coming from. Large foreheads, hehe.

imo Hayate is mainly a gag series, and the "harem" aspects are part of the gag structure.

It does actually have a plot; which would preclude it from being a gag manga.
It's got an awful lot of romance stuff in it, the main plot is the protagonist being fought over by about 6 girls, and that stuff about the kings jewels.

Does have some awsome jokes especially some of the references.
The chapeter titles are mostly brilliant, it called the sidestory come-sequel chapter "Radical Dreamers" :D. Also liked how Tama learned to speak (forced to play all of Higurashi, every Type-moon game and every touhou game)

The scream at the start of Occult Academy ep 2 saddly didn't live up to my expectations (I was hoping I'd need new ears now)

Yes, it isn't a classic "gag manga" in form, but in content the gags are the main thing imo. The increased emphasis on Hina/Hayate in the last year or so has pushed it slightly more in the other direction, but the "main" plot is not by any means the "main" thing about the series, for me.

Last year
She's been the focus of the series since about volume 10 (of 24)
There's been whole arcs that had barely any comedy in them e.g Radical Dreamers, End of the World, golden week. It's been lacking a bit on the gag front, besides how tottaly preposterous some of the situations are.

The two love polygons do appear to be the focus, besides all the moe. The moe is definatly the main selling point, why else would it need that many tsunderes, or maids for that matter.

Desided to catch up on the few months of scans I haven't read yet.
Buying it also, even if Viz are so far behind.
*edit* so he's ended up being dressed as a woman again

Although I did massively underestimate the time period (two years instead of one) I'd say the massive focus on Hina/Hayate only really kicked in from the end of volume 15.

Even when they're telling a story (with the general exception of the A-tan stuff), it's still clearly revolving around a series of gags, the exteme levels of moe just plays into that, in the same way that the love "polygon" stuff does. You can't say it doesn't resemble a gag manga "besides" how preposterous the situations are, it's the equivalent of saying it doesn't resemble a harem series "besides" the fact that there are a bunch of girls after the same guy, which I'm sure you wouldn't accept as an argument.

fwiw (and I'm quite loath to cite wikipedia, tbf), the Japanese wiki entry describes it as a gag manga.

Oh yeah, something I actually watched:

Mitsudomoe ep.1

More quality in this one episode than most seasons of other shows, shame almost no-one on here will watch it by default.

Disgaea for review.

Considering submitting my review as a two minute video of my bashing my head against my desk.

I mean you can have Pringer X but Prinnies don't explode when thrown? Dood what?!

Ookami-san episode 3

Another great episode, I was laughing lots during the episode and I loved it when it made a reference to Zero no Tsukaima as some of the characters cosplayed as Louise,Siesta and Henrietta ^_^

and I have also rewatched Shana episodes 5-8

You honestly mean to say that there was none in either TV season, as season 2 finishes during volume 14. Hina's birthday arc springs to mind.

Lack of punchlines: golden week had a fair few chapters that didn't have one or were, god forbid, actually serious.
It has returened to being gags in the current arc.Yes finally!! :D

Watched ep 3 of Amagami SS, roleplay fetish makes this series go from mediocre to awsome. I wonder if she's going to be taking him to school with a leash and collar next ep.
NB: this switches girl every 4 eps(I think it was 4), so we may end up with time resets

No, I honestly don't, and I'm not sure how you could read any of my posts in such a way to think that this is what I was saying.

If you can't see any way how it can be considered primarily a gag series, I can only assume that the essence of some of the gags is lost in translation.

Agreed that it was a good episode.

Yeah that reference took me a while to figure out, I thought "Man I swear i've seen that castle background in an anime before" then of course it was Zero no Tsukaima
