This is perfectly pleasant, but sometimes I do struggle to get a read on what exactly the goal is with the story. After Eve joined the fancy-pants academy, I expected cattiness and a series of hard-fought battles with rival students, but everyone is incredibly cordial and our dynamic duo just steamroller all their adversaries? Mafia golf seems like an awfully long time ago now.

Bofuri: My Defense Armour is Totally Not Fetish Gear ep1-2

This is also perfectly fine, but the fact that I completely forgot about having watched three episodes before and losing interest doesn't bode well. The little bits of chibi animation when Maple pictures something in her mind are cute though.

Edit: Actually, the reason I forgot might have something to do with watching this in February of 2020...

Wow, losing interest, huh? Just the opposite for me - I don't usually even care for any kind of gaming anime at all, normally I avoid them. So, I started watching this one with the mindset "ugh, another dumb gaming anime, why am I even watching it?!" But for me, Bofori with the totally broken gaming scenario was a hoot! I loved it, and showed this to the next door neighbor couple as soon as I received the Funimation Limited Edition Blu-ray set in the mail - and they got a big kick out of it too! Definitely a keeper for me. Second season, eh, maybe not quite as good as the first, but I will most certainly still grab it on Bu-ray and show it to the neighbors right away, too!

Backflip!! - the movie (Crunchyroll). I loved the anime TV series and this 1 hr 30 mins movie continues the story - with more convincing animation of the men's rhythmic gymnastics and the same attention to developing the characters. Anyone else seen it yet? It crept onto Crunchyroll yesterday (?) with little to no fanfare - and if you liked the series, you'll really want to watch this. (I know I'll watch it again.)

Gankutsuo (Could of Monte Cristo) episodes 1-12: Following the classic Dumas novel fairly closely, even if it is set in the future and involves some aliens). I've not seen any of the movies (since I was a kid) but I can't see how a film could fit in all the complex machinations of the Count taking his revenge. The visual style isn't my favourite, but the characterisations are excellent.
